Toyotas win Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain
Run 1-2 in WEC race Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Jose Maria Lopez led home a 1-2 victory for the Japanese manufacturer at the conclusion of the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain. The No.7 Toyota TS050 HYBRID finished a lap ahead of their teammates, Sebastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Brendon Hartley who were slightly hampered due to contact from another car at the very start of the race.
Rebellion beats Ginetta to WEC Bahrain pole
Toyota third and fourth Rebellion Racing has claimed pole position for the 2019 FIA WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain, its second pole in a row this season after a strong performance from Bruno Senna and Norman Nato. The duo set a 1:42.979 combined time, to go over a tenth clear at the top. In LMP2 it was United Autosports’ day, Phil Hanson and Paul Di Resta taking pole with a 1:45.357 combined time. GTE Pro saw the factory crew finish 1-2 with the #91 Porsche taking pole.
