| Positives:
Had 11 top-ten finishes
including a 2nd place at Talladega, and had 8 top-five qualifying
spots. Collected bonus points in
12 races and a pole at California. |
| Negatives:
Had DNF's at Atlanta and Darlington, both due to engine problems. Failed
to get his first WC trip down Victory Lane. |
| Comments:
Mike's
performance slipped from his excellent 1999 season.
With his skills and equipment, fans expect wins and a
top-five finish in 2001. Lowes, after much wrangling,
will remain as primary sponsor. Apparently a lumber
company that is a Lowes' vendor will be on the hood of the
car. |
