From the time show attendees enter the Motorsports 2002 Auto Racing Extravaganza, they will have to keep moving to make sure they see all the displays and take advantage of all the opportunities to participate in a variety of show activities.
The three day show, set for Friday, January 11, 1 p.m. thru Sunday, January 13, 6 p.m., at the Fort Washington, PA Expo Center offers everything Motorsports.
More than 150 Motorsports vehicles will be on display and many of the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic auto racing facilities will be offering information on their 2002 season. Collectible vendors will be offering many specials and there will be "whisper karts", a mechanical bull, Big Wheel competition, and other attractions that will allow attendees to actually be part of the action.
Motorsports 2002 offers opportunities to collect autographs and talk with many top name racers and
personalities in the sport. NASCAR Winston Cup stars Tony Stewart, Sterling Marlin, and Dave Blaney will be there. Veteran Winston Cup car owner Junie Donlavey will sign autographs as will two time NASCAR Winston Cup champion Ned Jarrett. Former Winston Cup standout James Hylton will be on hand as will Busch Series star Chad Little. Pennzoil World of Outlaw champion Danny Lasoski will
meet fans as will a large number of other popular Motorsports figures.
Racers will have three days to see what is new in the way of race cars, safety equipment, haulers, and so much more. The "Hardcore" section of the show always proves to attract drivers and car owners looking to find that certain something that could be the difference that takes them to
victory lane.
Hands-on demonstrations will be presented throughout the show hours and there will be a variety of seminars that are designed to help racers improve.
One of the most popular attractions of the weekend is the U.S.Tobacco Ms. Motorsports Contest. More than 30 ladies are expected to take part in the preliminaries and then the finals that all happen on Saturday of show weekend.
The Mid-Winter Extravaganza filling more than 275,000 square feet of the Fort Washington, PA Expo Center, gives fans of the sport a great opportunity to recharge their "batteries" with just about a month to go before the outdoor racing season gets the green flag. And for those who would like to learn what makes Motorsports such a popular attraction, Motorsports 2002 is the perfect place to gain an education.
The three day show, January 11-13, is set for the Fort Washington, PA Expo Center.
Admission for adults is $12.00 while youngsters 6-12 are admitted for just $4.00. And for the kids under 6, the cost of admission is FREE, as long as a paying adult accompanies them. Three days passes for adults are $25.00 and for youngsters, 6-12, just $10.00. There is plenty of free parking in lots surrounding the Expo Center and shuttle service will be available.
