Bavarian driver secures his first DTM title early, at Valencia With a third place at the penultimate race of the season at Valencia Martin Tomczyk converted his first match ball: The 29-year-old driver from Rosenheim, Bavaria, is the 2011 DTM Champion and thus celebrates the biggest triumph in his motorsport career. The exploit also marks the first time in DTM history for a champion to sit in a so-called year-old car. Tomczyk succeeds Paul Di Resta, who has switched to Formula One, and with the biggest triumph in his career has now joined the DTM’s club of champions whose members include stars like Bernd Schneider, Mattias Ekström or Timo Scheider.

World debut at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt On the eve of the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt Audi presented its new DTM vehicle: After the V8 Quattro (1990 to 1992) and the A4 (2004 to 2011) the brand with the four rings has opted to use a two-door coupe in the most popular international touring car series for the first time. The new Audi A5 DTM, which bears the internal project name "R17" at Audi Sport, conforms to the new Technical Regulations that will come into effect in the 2012 season.

Moves closer to F1 Renault Sport Technologies has chosen the setting of the Monaco Grand Prix, where the Formula Renault 3.5 Series will be the curtain raiser for the Formula 1 race, to present its new single-seater. McLaren GT unveils team and development program McLaren GT, a new race car manufacturer which brings together the expertise of McLaren Racing, McLaren Automotive and CRS Racing, today unveiled its GT3 car and plans for a 2011 development program. The new McLaren MP4-12C GT3 will be the first McLaren car built for FIA* GT series racing since the McLaren F1 GTR finished production in1997.

Dakar Rally kickoff celebration New Year’s Day. Summer holidays. Unbearable heat. However, the inhabitants in and around Buenos Aires did not hesitate. Over a million people came, and for many of them, it is not the first time. They came to see the parade of the 407 vehicles that will take part in the Dakar 2011 and, afterwards, the beginning of their journey towards Victoria, where they will find their first bivouac.
