Before I even finished reading, I wanted a Roadster. An electric sports car with great performance and industry-leading range? I immediately reserved the car, even before I could test drive it the following year at the Geneva Motor Show. I couldn’t wait for my car to be delivered! I know that a lot of customers fall in love with the Roadster in a similar way – but I don’t consider myself a “typical” Roadster owner or even a typical premium car owner.
Early Photos While there are still debuts yet to be announced, the LA AutoShow has already been quite interesting with many new models revealed, including the Mercedes BIOME Concept shown to the right, and of course the big announcement - that Lotus would be supplying IndyCar engines beginning in 2012.
All new design Following on from the recent launch of the second generation Mercedes-Benz CLS, details have been announced of the high performance version - the monstrous CLS 63 AMG. The top of the range model is powered by a newly developed AMG V8 biturbo engine as well as the AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission. On top of this, the car gets a phenomenal fuel consumption of 28.5mpg.
Goes on sale in March BMW launches new 6-series convertible before the coupe and it looks more sporty and less poser BMW has broken away from its traditional launch approach by launching a convertible before its hard top coupe sibling. This is the third-generation 6-series and what a fantastic looking vehicle it is. Its first official debut will be the Detroit motor show in January where it will be shown off to the public for the first time. It is due for release in March.
At LA Auto Show The segment-leading Chevrolet Camaro opens a new chapter as the 2011 Camaro convertible premieres at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. The new convertible begins production in January and goes on sale in February. It includes an enhanced body structure and well-tailored top mechanism – a combination designed to deliver sports coupe-like driving fun and precise quality.

Mercedes to put another nail in the gas engine coffin Images of the electric-powered Mercedes-Benz SLS leak onto the internet just as expected. Known as the Mercedes SLS AMG E-cell concept, the car sheds its standard SLS AMG’s 571HP 6.3-liter V8 petrol engine to make place for four electric motors placed near the wheels effectively making it a four-wheel drive model. the E-cell can sprint from 0-62 mph in a claimed 4.0 sec.

As AR1.com has told you for years - electric is the future Ford Motor Company Monday announced it will invest an additional $450 million in its aggressive electric vehicle plan, paving the way to build a next-generation hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicle in Michigan beginning in 2012 and creating 1,000 new jobs.
