Ultra-high-power charging technology for future EVs
Charging EVs may soon be as quick as filling up with fuel The research consortium presented a prototype for a charging station with an output of up to 450 kW yesterday in Jettingen-Scheppach, located near the A8 motorway between Ulm and Augsburg. A Porsche research vehicle with a net battery capacity of approximately 90 kWh achieved a charging capacity of over 400 kW on the new charging station, allowing for charging times of less than 3 minutes for the first 100 km range.

Fully electric Audi e-tron GT concept makes global debut Audi e-tron, the third: The brand with the four rings is presenting one of the stars of the 2018 Auto Show in the movie capital Los Angeles. With the electric powered Audi e-tron GT concept a four-door coupe is making its debut as a show car. The volume-production counterpart is set to follow in approximately two years, and the concept will make its film debut in Marvel Studios’ Avengers 4, set to be released in theaters summer 2019.

Manufacturers are starting to come out with SUVs that are basically cars but they give them an SUV shape because they know that it would sell better. The Lexus NX300 is one of those vehicles that reminds one of a car more than an SUV. Lexus says that it offers a raised driving position with a cockpit that “evokes a sporty driving experience with new features to complement a busy lifestyle.” The cockpit of the NX300 is indeed sporty looking and our F Sport model added full length illuminated needles as well as sport seats with more aggressive bolsters.

After months of teasing, Fisker officially launched its new EMotion all-electric vehicle at CES in Las Vegas last night. While the car is impressive, what's coming in 2020 is even more exciting. Fisker last fall announced it had filed patents for solid-state battery technology that could enable a range of 500 miles and a charging time of just one minute.
