Chip Ganassi Racing Celebrates 30th Anniversary
88 Drivers have raced for Ganassi
Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) will celebrate its 30th Anniversary with the start of the 2020 season, currently fielding five cars across the NASCAR Cup Series and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. CGR, which began in 1990, is recognized as one of the most successful teams in the motorsports industry. Beginning with its first win in the 1994 INDYCAR race in Australia, the organization has compiled historic victories in some of the most iconic races around the globe.
Bentley breaks through for Bathurst 12H win
  Beats McLaren and Mercedes
After five years of trying, close-calls and heartbreak, Bentley has finally won at Bathurst. The storied British brand triumphed in another dramatic, record-breaking Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama; breaking not only their own Mount Panorama drought but quite literally bringing the rain down as well. Driven by French drivers Jules Gounon, Maxime Soulet and South African Jordan Pepper, the No 7 Bentley Team M Sport entry started eleventh but headed a majority of the race.
Defending champ Campbell wins pole for Bathurst 12H
  Crashes mar Bathurst 12-Hour
The Matt Campbell Mount Panorama fairy-tale continues unabated; the Queensland driver and Porsche hero taking a stunning Pole Position for the 2020 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour in today’s Pirelli Top-10 shootout. In a dramatic and often car-breaking day that saw several cars crash heavily in a series of incidents at the top of Mount Panorama, Campbell survived the carnage to qualify fastest and then convert that to pole position in the Shootout.
No.10 WTR Cadillac wins 2nd straight Rolex 24
BMW outduels two Porsches to win in GTLM
The Wayne Taylor Racing #10 Cadillac DPi won their 2nd straight Rolex 24 by more than 1-minute over the pole winning #77 Oliver Jarvis Mazda and the Loic Duval #5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac. It was never really a contest for the team of Kobayashi, Dixon, Briscoe and Van Der Zande as they would have lapped the field more than once had it not been for stupid mistakes. The most exciting battle was in GTLM that went down to the last hour with the Rahal Letterman BMW beating the two factory Porsches.
Rolex 24: Halfway Update - Cadillacs run 1-2-3
  BMW vs Porsche in GTLM
Cadillacs run 1-2-3 at the midpoint of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The #5 Cadillac (Loic Duval) has assumed the lead over the #10 Cadillac (Ryan Briscoe) but they swap positions on pitstops and the win is still very much up in the air as the #31 Cadillac lurks close behind. The #77 and #55 Mazdas are now circulating together in 4th and 5th place still on the lead lap but starting to lose touch with the Cadillacs that are putting the BoP advantage IMSA gave them to good use.
Second Straight Rolex 24 Pole for Mazda
  Porsche on GTLM pole
Oliver Jarvis claimed his second straight Rolex 24 at Daytona pole position for Mazda Team Joest easily beating Acura to the top spot in qualifying after Acura was neutered by IMSA before the weekend so they did not have the pace to win. Jarvis put up a time of 1:33.711 to easily beat the #6 Penske Acura of Juan Montoya. Ricky Taylor wadded up the sister #7 Acura trying too hard. Nick Tandy put the #911 Porsche on pole position in the GT Le Mans category, just edging out the sister #912 Porsche.
INDYCAR stars set for Rolex 24
Dixon, Hunter-Reay and Rossi have real chance to win
NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers are set to compete in yet another prestigious offseason motorsports event with this week's Rolex 24 at Daytona, the top U.S. sports car road race at Daytona International Speedway. Just days after three NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers competed in the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the series will be represented by six former series champions and five Indianapolis 500 winners in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship's season-opening race.
2020 IMSA Sportscar Season: A Look Ahead
  Season starts this weekend
These days, motorsport doesn’t seem offseason. That’s especially true for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship organized by the IMSA (International Motor Sports Association). The North American endurance racing series already hosted its huge preseason test after successfully wrapping up the 2019 season in October. The series is getting ready for the first of its biggest events in the Rolex 24 to be hosted at the end of January in Daytona.
As IndyCar & IMSA go hybrid, auto industry dumps it
A Day late and a Dollar Short
A Day Late And a Dollar Short, isn't that the life story of IndyCar and IMSA?  After dragging their feet with hybridization of their power units for their top categories - IndyCars and Daytona DPi prototypes - when the automobile industry was spending tons of money on R&D on hybrid engines for their passenger cars, they recently had a Come to Jesus moment and decided they must now implement hybrid power by 2022.

Preseason test for the Rolex 24
A year ago, there was much fanfare surrounding Oliver Jarvis and the No. 77 Mazda Team Joest RT-24P at the end of Roar Before the Rolex 24 At Daytona qualifying for garage and pit stall selections in the Daytona Prototype international (DPi) class. In the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class, James Calado led an extremely close session, posting the fastest time of 1:42.685 (124.803 mph) in the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTE he is sharing this weekend with Daniel Serra.
