EVs: ChargePoint's New Stations Promise Fast Charge In Minutes
Chargepoint high-voltage ExpressPlus station
ChargePoint high-voltage ExpressPlus station

Tesla launches battery production at U.S. Gigafactory
Tesla Factory
Tesla Factory

Tesla's massive Gigafactory on Wednesday produced its first battery cells to power the company's energy storage products and, before long, the Model 3 electric car.

The start of mass production is a huge milestone in Tesla’s quest to electrify transportation, and it brings to America a manufacturing industry -- battery cells -- that has long been dominated by China, Japan, and South Korea.

More than 2,900 people are already working at the diamond-shaped factory of outlandish proportions hidden in the scrubland east of Reno, Nevada, where cowboys gamble and wild horses still roam. More than 4,000 additional jobs (including temporary construction work) will be added this year through the partnership between Tesla and Japan's Panasonic Corp.

Ford F-Series Achieves 40 Consecutive Years As America's Best Selling Truck
Ford, America's truck leader, is celebrating a major milestone as F-Series now reigns as the top-selling truck in the country for 40 consecutive years and best-selling vehicle for 35 years.

Ford has now sold more than 26 million F-Series trucks since January 1977. Think of it like this: That many trucks could circle the globe more than three times, or, lined up bumper-to-bumper, would span 90,000-plus miles.

Ford truck leadership was established with the sixth-generation of F-Series for the 1977 model year, a time when 8-track tapes, disco and bell bottoms were the rage. The company was riding a sales wave – based on an all-new F-150 light-duty pickup featuring an improved 351-series V8 engine, standard front disc brakes, and an extended SuperCab offering.

James Allison was not capable of designing a better car than Aldo Costa and Adrian Newey
