Graeme Lowdon - Probably not impressed with IndyCar's miniscule TV ratings on NBCSN
Manor's John Booth and Graeme Lowdon revealed the team almost pursued a move to the United States and the IndyCar Series before choosing to commit to a sportscar future with a Le Mans 24 Hours bid.
Manor was revealed as one of 60 entries for this year's endurance classic with its Nissan-powered Oreca 05 LMP2 machine, alongside a full season competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The 'revival' of the Manor team Booth founded comes after he and sporting director Lowdon exited the F1 team of the same name at the end of 2015 following a break down in relations with the outfit's new owners. The redubbed Manor Racing will continue to race in F1, though it is yet to reveal its drivers for 2016.
Indeed, Booth and Lowdon say they still had a strong desire to remain in motorsport, having made its name in F3 before stepping up to F1 as 'Virgin Racing' in 2010, with the IndyCar Series considered initially.

Furniture Row ready for new season; still looking at 2nd team in 2017
#78 Furniture Row switches from Chevy to Toyota in 2016
Much is new for 2016 at Furniture Row Racing, which will have a new manufacturer, a new means of engine and chassis delivery and a new pit crew. Newey exposes the fallacy of F1's attempt to reduce cost
Adrian Newey warns of runaway costs
Moves to open up engine development in '17 will trigger a Formula One "spending frenzy" likely to increase the dominance of champions Mercedes and Ferrari, Red Bull Technical Head Adrian Newey has warned, according to Alan Baldwin of REUTERS.
When asked about the consequences of plans to scrap the current power unit "token" system and allow unrestricted development, Newey said, "More spending, simple as that."
The change, confirmed last week by Renault Sport Managing Dir Cyril Abiteboul, is "part of a deal agreed with the manufacturers to provide privately-owned teams with far cheaper engines."

Michelin wants to return to F1 but with 18 inch wheels. If they write a big enough check, we're sure Bernie will find a way to work them back in
Michelin remains interested in returning to Formula 1 at the earliest opportunity despite losing out to Pirelli for the 2017-19 tyre deal.
But it is still adamant F1 would need to switch to 18-inch wheel rims if it came back.
Key to Michelin's proposal was a move away from the current 13-inch spec.
Michelin and current supplier Pirelli both passed the FIA's requirements in the tyre tender for 2017-19, before commercial chief Bernie Ecclestone opted for Pirelli, which will keep the current rim size.

Back Injury Sends Stewart To Hospital (3rd Update) UPDATE
Stewart out for months
Tony Stewart suffered a burst fracture of his L1 vertebra and had surgery Wednesday in North Carolina. There are varying degrees of burst fractures, said ESPN college sports and motorsports announcer and reporter Dr. Jerry Punch, who also said he expects Stewart to be out for months. Punch has not talked with Stewart and is not treating him but said the burst fracture is worse than a compression fracture. Denny Hamlin missed five weeks after a compression fracture of his L-1 vertebra (the highest bone in the lower back) in 2013.
"[A burst fracture] is basically an explosion of the vertebrae, typically the body of the vertebrae," Punch said in a phone interview. "Unlike a compression fracture, where it sort of gets pushed down on itself, a burst fracture usually involves multiple fractures and multiple fragments. ... Normally when someone has a burst fracture, you're talking months of healing, you're talking people wearing these big lumbar braces for two to three months."
