Mercedes won't be able to show-off in front of German fans
Toto Wolff and Mercedes won't be showing off to German fans
Toto Wolff and Mercedes won't be showing off to German fans
The Mercedes F1 team will not be able to show-off their engineering superiority this year because there will not be a German GP.

A Nurburgring official said that the circuit "will not host" the German F1 Grand Prix this year, after Hockenheim also ruled out the possibility, according to Karolos Grohmann of REUTERS.

The Nurburgring "was scheduled to host the July 19 race under an alternation agreement with Hockenheim, which hosted last year's grand prix and has an agreement for 2016."

A Nürburgring spokesperson said the circuit could not do so "for time, financial and organizational reasons."

Hendrick alliance not paying off for everyone
Kevin Harvick
Back in the heyday of Bill Elliott's family-run racing success, the brothers were famous for not giving away any of their secrets.

Older brother Ernie Elliott was a mastermind in the engine room. He kept the doors to his shop locked with a sign that read: “It’s so secret in here, we don’t know what’s going on,” and he once denied access to officials from Ford Racing.

The evolution of team racing was supposed to change all that.

Operation of No. 66 Cup team suspended
The No. 66 Premium Motorsports NASCAR Sprint Cup Chevrolet has withdrawn from the Sprint Cup race at Auto Club Speedway this weekend, team owner Jay Robinson confirmed on Wednesday.

However, Robinson will attempt to qualify the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevy with Brendan Gaughan.

"The No. 66 is not a sponsored team," Robinson told Motorsport.com. "And if you’re not making races, then you’re not making money. Fortunately, we made the Daytona 500, so that carried us for a while. Every race is expensive and when you have to pay for tires, engines and personnel it’s hard to do."

Early indications are that Chevy will eat Honda's lunch in IndyCar this year
Is Honda sandbagging or has Chevy done a better job?
If anything was learned after the two days of testing of the new Verizon IndyCar Series aero kits at Barber Motorsports Park it was that Honda is behind Chevrolet in development with only 10 days to the season opener at St. Petersburg.

That much is undisputed after the big Chevy teams of Penske and Ganassi dominated the speed charts for a majority of the sessions on Monday and Tuesday.

And when they were not at the top, one of the smaller Bow Tie teams like KV Racing Technology with veteran Sebastien Bourdais and rookie Stefano Coletti was there.
