WIBC's Tony Katz spoke with Indycar driver Simon Pagenaud about the ever changing landscape of a world constantly under attack by terrorists.
Pagenaud - a native of France - discussed how Paris is different after the November, 2015 attacks that killed 130 people, and how Brussels is likely to see similar changes following Tuesday's attack.
"I know there's been a lot of concern. I went to France over Christmas and was very surprised to see the lifestyles have changed a little bit. There’s a lot less people going out for dinner. There's a lot less activity on the streets in the evening. People are just being a lot more careful. You can't avoid traveling on the subway. That's the way to travel in Paris because it's so difficult to travel by car, and it's scary. I think what happened in Brussels today will make it even worse."
Penske wants to keep IndyCar small so he can continue to influence it and, therefore, dominate it.
Despite regular rumors of races outside North America, including speculation over possible non-championship events, Penske told motorsports.com he believes the bigger priority for the Verizon IndyCar Series is to establish itself in this continent.
“Our sponsors, 95 percent of them, are U.S. domestic companies and if we’re going to give them the publicity, the notoriety and the business to business relationships they want to have, it’s hard to do it at Abu Dhabi and so on.
“I have no problem with us going to Canada and Mexico,” he clarified. “We used to have a great race at Vancouver, for example, and there are a lot of racing people in the northwest. And we’ve raced in Mexico, although I don’t know what the chances are of running there again.

Larson talks about Fontana wreck Kyle Larson was involved in a single car accident on lap 48 in the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway. Q) WHAT HAPPENED? Larson: "I was going down the back stretch and I think it was my left-rear tire got cut. It must have ripped the brake line because I went to push the pedal and it went straight to the floor board. I couldn't slow down. It was definitely a hard hit there, probably one of the harder ones of my career. Even before that we were pretty sub-average there, we were pretty bad. Disappointed in our run today, but glad I'm alright."

Kyle Busch gets his Walk of Fame Plaque at Fontana
Adam Stevens, crew chief for Kyle Busch, said his team hasn't resolved a left rear tire wear issue that surfaced during Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice sessions at Auto Club Speedway. "I don't know what it was," Stevens said.
"We tried multiple things to remedy it and it's getting better, but it's not like it's gone. We still have some concerns after final practice."
Goodyear officials said the problem was traced to air pressures and camber settings, but Stevens said his #18 Joe Gibbs Racing team was not "out of the box on any one of those things compared to every car that we're capable of looking at and past history."
Marco Andretti, whose father, Michael, and grandfather, Mario, are among the best Indy-car drivers of all time with 94 victories between them, is in his 11th season in the Verizon IndyCar Series, the premier open-wheel racing series in the United States -- and maybe the world. He hasn't yet come close to fulfilling the expectations people have had of him because of his lineage. The 2016 season started last weekend, and Marco Andretti is the subject of this week's Q&A.
Q: Did you ever think that, in your 11th year, you'd still be looking for your third victory?
A: After my first year (one win and a second-place finish in the 2006, I thought I would have had three wins after my second year. That (wins) is what we're missing. We have a bunch of podiums, but we're not leading the important lap … the last lap. This series is very competitive.
