Strong IMSA Contingent Set For 24 Hours Of Le Mans
The Ganassi Ford GT team will be at LeMans in force
IMSA once again will have a strong contingent of full-time drivers and teams competing in the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 16-17.
The official, 60-car entry list released today by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), which organizes the prestigious, twice-around-the-clock race, revealed 26 drivers competing full time in IMSA and five IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams responsible for fielding a total of seven cars. Among this group, there are 11 drivers who have previously won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
ARCA To Use New Qualifying Format For Charlotte Event
The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will utilize a timed qualifying session format when the series returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 24 for the first time in 14 years.
It’s the first time in series history that ARCA will set the starting field via timed session qualifying. The session will begin when the command from the tower is given to release the cars coming off pit road. Teams will have the option of when to leave pit road to make their qualifying run, as well as how many laps they run. When a car returns to pit road, its qualifying attempt is complete.

The ACO has released the full entry list for the 2018 Le Mans 24 Hours and the Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day, which features finalised line-ups for all 60 cars entered, and an updated reserve list.
The reserve list has been shortened, the only two remaining entrants being the #55 Spirit of Race Ferrari, and the High Class Racing Dallara. The rest of the remaining reserves have been withdrawn, including the KCMG Dallara and Racing Engineering ORECA.
Next Group Of Young IndyCar Drivers Seek Patient Sponsors
Veterans in IndyCar believe the current young group of drivers has a "better chance of making an impact together than previously-hyped classes," according to Michael Marot of the AP.
Chip Ganassi Racing Managing Dir Mike Hull said, "We've got good, quality guys under 25 and now they're driving for owners who hopefully will stick with them because that's how I think that's what develops them. I think the crop you're talking about is the crop we've needed for a long, long time but we didn't have the stability to do that. Now, we do." IndyCar President of Competition & Operations Jay Frye called this young group "'advanced' in terms of their experience and business savvy."

Formula E to race in Riyadh for opening round of season five

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship is set to make its debut in the Middle East next season in Riyadh, with the Saudi Arabian capital scheduled to host the opening round of season five in December.
In a double-first for the electric street racing series, Formula E will bring international motorsport to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the very first time as part of a 10-year agreement with the General Sports Authority and Saudi Arabian Motor Federation.
