Haryanto looking for money to complete season - mother
Rio Haryanto
Rio Haryanto - things are so bad in F1 drivers have to prop up many of the team
(GMM) Rio Haryanto's mother has admitted the Indonesian rookie is currently lacking the money he needs to complete the second half of the 2016 season.

Reports have suggested that while the 23-year-old is backed by the Indonesian government and Pertamina, the state-owned oil company, he could still be replaced by Manor after July's Hungarian grand prix.

"We are striving to find a sponsor to cover the remaining amount of 7.5 million euros," Rio's mother, Indah Pennywati, told the Indonesian national news agency Antara.

Elliott Has Talent, But Lacks Star-Power Right Now
Chase Elliott
Chase Elliott

That’s the phrase I would be yelling at Chase Elliott if I was the director of his latest NAPA Autoparts commercial. Not only does the Sprint Cup rookie show little to no personality during his screen time in the 30 second commercial, he is also upstaged at the end of the commercial by his more popular Hendrick Motor Sports teammate, Dale Earnhardt Jr,, Who doesn’t want to put a 24 on it.

Although the commercial was probably a failure from the moment go, especially with the tacky infomercial style that was used during the television spot, Elliot still should have tried to inject some personality into his lines and moved around a bit. Unfortunately for viewers that were suckered into viewing the spot, Elliot didn’t come across very personable and it could hurt him In the long run.

Visionless Apple CEO Tim Cook (L) and visionary Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif.— Tesla Motors Inc. Chief Executive Elon Musk said he considers Apple Inc. an eventual direct competitor that could bring its own electric vehicles into production as soon as 2020 writes Greg Bensinger, The Wall Street Journal.

Apple will “probably make a good car and be successful,” Mr. Musk said at Vox Media Inc.’s Code Conference here on Wednesday. “They should have embarked on [the car] project sooner.”

The Wall Street Journal reported last fall that Apple was developing an electric car project and had assigned it a 2019 ship date, which can mean the time when engineers are expected to sign off on the project, not deliver a product. Apple hasn’t confirmed it is working on a car.

Why the Grand Prix is great for Belle Isle and Detroit
Tree Huggers protesting the Detroit GP
Tree Huggers protesting the Detroit GP
Neighborhood protesters picketing that the Detroit Grand Prix should move from Belle Isle to another local venue because they feel inconvenienced offered the strongest evidence that the racing event has arrived as a highly popular entity.

The louder people complain, perhaps the more likely you’re doing something right writes Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press.

“That’s a good way of looking at it,” said Roger Penske, the visionary behind using the Grand Prix as a means for elevating Detroit’s national profile. “We never want even the tiniest of public unrest and I understand that people will have their own agendas. They’re fighting for something that’s important for them.
