Ranger climbs through field at Chaudiere
Andrew Ranger had his hands full at the start of the day with the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge at round number two of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at the Autodrome Chaudière on Saturday night.  But by the end of the night he'd gained ten positions from the start of the race and collected a big handful of championship points.

The Mopar Motorsports Crew struggled with the set up on the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge during practice and Ranger only managed a 14th starting spot on the grid for the 300-lap feature event.  "The car was a little bit tight on entry and at the midpoint so qualifying was difficult," said Ranger.

On race tracks around the world, if they are competing, 90% of the time Chevy beats Ford week-in-and-week-out.
New Global Ford Performance Director Dave Pericak said Sunday that the company is committed to increased success and performance across all of its racing platforms, including NASCAR. Joined by Sprint Cup driver Brad Keselowski at Michigan International Speedway, Pericak discussed a number of things, including working to improve the performance of Roush Fenway Racing, the evolution of Ford Racing into Ford Performance and the company's promising new GT entry that will debut at Daytona next February. Some excerpts:

Working to improve performance of Roush Fenway Racing: "We are with Jack (Roush) all the time, and we spend a lot of time with Jack's team and we are making all the right, I believe, changes within not only the Roush Fenway organization but as we apply our technical resources within Ford Performance, assisting Jack and his team to get to a better place. We have seen progress. We are excited about what we have seen so far. Obviously we need to see more, but we are confident that Jack is dedicated with his team to do that. We are partners in this and our goal is to make them perform better and we are expecting a better performance today."

Amy Ruman celebrates beating all the boys
Amy Ruman celebrates beating all the boys

MILLVILLE, NJ - - Amy Ruman and Adam Andretti were victorious in the TA and TA2 classes while Ernie Francis, Jr., and Andrew Aquilante won their respective TA3 groups at New Jersey Motorsports Park as the Trans Am Series held Round 5 of the 2015 Trans Am Championship, The MPT Industries Weekend of Thunder.

For Amy Ruman, driver of the No. 23 McNichols Company Chevrolet Corvette, the victory, in the TA class MPT Fuel Systems Cleanse 100 Race, marked her fourth on the year and a return to the top step after a frustrating outing at Lime Rock Park.   It was a victory hard earned; one that once more saw her run through the entire field having been forced into the pits immediately for a temporary power steering failure -another in what had been a weekend full of mechanical issues for the No. 23.

De Silvestro confirmed at Andretti for Formula E finale
IndyCar driver Simona de Silvestro will make her debut in the FIA Formula E series at the finale of its inaugural season in London at the end of the month.

De Silvestro completed a show-run using a Formula E car in Switzerland earlier this year, and expressed her desire to compete in the series one day once her schedule allowed.

Given that the Swiss racer is without a drive for the time being, an opportunity has arisen with the Andretti Formula E team for de Silvestro to race alongside Jean-Eric Vergne at the London ePrix.

SHELBY BLACKSTOCK
NO. 51 STARSTRUCK MAZDA

After capturing a fourth-place finish* for Saturday's Race One, the Nashville, TN native came home in the sixth position for today's wet 30-lap race after rolling off the grid from seventh

*The No. 4 car was disqualified after failing post-race technical inspection moving Shelby from fifth to fourth place

"Well the second race of the weekend was probably my least favorite of my career. Today was all about just surviving. The car does not actually have a rain map… Unfortunately we tagged the wall mid-race, but we finished sixth which is a lot better than I thought we did (haha). Overall a good weekend - we learned a lot - and a huge thanks to the Andretti Autosport team."

Good morning from Toronto
Could be a wet afternoon at Exhibition Place
It's Race Day here in Toronto! It's a pleasant morning with the sun starting to peak out of the clouds.

However, AR1's Greater Toronto Area Weather Bureau reports a different forecast for today's race, as rain is expected this afternoon. Now, it won't be the race threatening thunderstorms, but there is expected to be a rather consistent light rain throughout the afternoon. Yes, chances are we're looking at yet another wet race for the Verizon IndyCar Series.

Of course, the rain makes predicting the race difficult, and we could see a surprise winner. James Hinchcliffe won at NOLA starting 16th and Carlos Munoz started 20th at Detroit Duel 1.
