NASCAR overturns victory for first time since 1960
Mofftt declared winner
NASCAR overturned a victory for the first time since 1960 on Sunday when Brett Moffitt was declared the winner of the Truck Series race at Iowa Speedway after Ross Chastain's No. 44 truck failed a post-race inspection.
Chastain led the final 141 laps of the 200-lap race. But series managing director Brad Moran said the No. 44 was too low when it was measured with NASCAR's height sticks. Chastain's team has until noon on Monday to appeal the decision.
Kurt Busch reveals his ambition to race Le Mans one day
Kurt Busch, driver for Chip Ganassi Racing in Monster Energy Cup Series, found time in his busy schedule to jump in a plane and spend the weekend at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A weekend as an onlooker, but with vested interests. He makes no secret of his desire to try other disciplines and races, including Le Mans.
“This is a fun weekend off. It’s great to have the access through Chip Ganassi Racing. It makes a change to be at a racetrack and not be racing. It’s neat to see the culture, the people, the pageantry and the passion here. I’m enjoying watching the Fords, the Corvettes: that heritage, that legacy. Those guys paved the way for a guy like me to enjoy. At the same time I need to do a better job of getting other guys to jump out of Indy Car and into sports cars and vice-versa."
We’re about a month away from seeing the next-generation Corvette in the flesh, which means the folks at Chevrolet are going to be road-testing these as much as possible to shake out any major problems. That also means that there’s going to be a sharp increase in the number of public sightings of the fully camouflaged C8 Corvette.
This C8 'Vette tester was buzzing along when YouTuber Knustylz Kustomz spotted the hard-to-miss Chevy. The Corvette turns to make a Michigan left, which reveals its LED brake lights. Instead of turning, the driver heads straight into a parking lot, likely hoping to shake the person filming.
