Gutierrez claimed his third win of the season
Poleman Esteban Gutierrez claimed his third win of the season in Race 1 after a hard fought battle with Manor Racing’s Rio Haryanto.

The ART driver made the perfect start from pole position and looked like pulling away to take another dominant victory whilst Manor Racing teammates Rio Haryanto and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs battled for second spot. But the Mexican didn’t have it all his own way. By the end of lap one Haryanto had lost and regained second place from his teammate and then set his sights firmly on Gutierrez.

ALMS UTAH: Field puts Intersport on top in morning practice
Jon Field and Intersport Racing flexed their muscle again at Miller Motorsports Park on Saturday morning with the fastest lap of the first official practice for the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix. Field’s time of 1:35.961 in the Intersport Lola B06/10-AER put him 0.834 seconds clear of Dyson Racing’s Guy Smith.

Field put Intersport in a good position for the start of the second half of the 2010 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n championship. The Lola wowed the Utah crowd in 2008 when Field went from ninth to second after one turn and led several laps early before finishing second in class.

Maldonado crushes competition in feature race
Pastor Maldonado made light work of collecting his third victory of the season in today’s feature race in Silverstone, storming off into the distance when the lights went out, and leaving Jules Bianchi and Dani Clos in his wake.

The Frenchman’s chance of victory was over at the start when a slow getaway handed Maldonado a lead which, pitstops notwithstanding, he never relinquished, with Clos slotting in behind the pair. Oliver Turvey pushed across to protect himself after a less than optimal start, but countryman Sam Bird was through and gone before he got there, with Giedo van der Garde also gaining from Charles Pic’s start-line woes.

Hamilton has a plan for Sunday
Lewis Hamilton
McLaren
Lewis Hamilton has a cunning plan to keep up with the Red Bulls in Sunday's British GP: "I'm gonna get a rope, tie it on and tag along".  Once again, the two Bulls were in a class of their own during qualifying, but all is not yet lost for Hamilton - even if he doesn't manage to secure a tow.

Though teammate Jenson Button could only manage 14th, Hamilton wrestled his McLaren into fourth and, as he noted afterward, "our reliability is better than theirs so there's still hope."

Yet unless the Bulls are slowed by technical gremlins, it is difficult to see how Hamilton, or any other driver, can catch them.

"I'm happy as pie with fourth because we are clearly a chunk off then. They are flat through turn one and I just can't."

'No manipulation' as Vettel takes Webber's wing - boss
Mark Webber ahead of his Red Bull teammate
Red Bull
(GMM)  Christian Horner on Saturday fended off claims that Sebastian Vettel is being crudely favored over his Red Bull teammate Mark Webber.

The RB6 is the runaway dominant car at Silverstone, but in morning practice one of two examples of a new front wing specification broke on Vettel's car.

The other new wing was fitted to Webber's car, so - based on "championship position and the performance in FP3" - it was taken away from the Australian and given to Vettel, team boss Horner explained whilst surrounded by reporters after qualifying.

Webber furious after losing new wing to Vettel
Mark Webber
Red Bull
(GMM)  Mark Webber was furious after qualifying second for the British grand prix.

Red Bull brought only two examples of a new front wing design to Silverstone, and on Saturday morning Sebastian Vettel's broke during the pre-qualifying practice session.

The team took Webber's front wing off the sister RB6 and fitted it to Vettel's car before the young German secured pole in qualifying.

The previous specification was used by Webber, who qualified a tenth off Vettel's pace.

UST Global & Virgin Racing Launch New Race Management System
This year’s British Grand Prix will see the launch of an innovative new race management tool, designed exclusively for Virgin Racing by Official IT Services Provider UST Global.

In an environment where split second decisions have to be taken in the heat of the moment, it’s vital that the team’s engineers have the clear 360 degree overview they need of the race, in order to make the right calls when it comes to race strategy.

To provide the Virgin Racing team with this overview, UST Global has built an integrated software application based on a client/server model. A media server captures and stores hundreds of gigabytes of audio-visual feeds from trackside and on-car cameras, vital data such as timing feeds, GPS positioning of the Virgin Racing cars relative to the competition and external weather information. This data is then streamed to an integrated dashboard display where it is presented clearly, either in real-time or on-demand. Race engineers on the pit wall are then able to analyze the data and make informed decisions concerning strategy for both drivers.

Chrysler, Ford recalling SUVs
The government says Chrysler is recalling about 22,000 sport utility vehicles and trucks to fix brake tubes that could lead to the loss of brake fluid.

Ford Motor Co., meanwhile, is recalling more than 30,000 2010 Transit Connect vans to replace pushpins holding the liners above the driver's head. The company says government testing found it failed to meet federal standards protecting the head.

Chrysler says its recall affects certain 2010 Dodge Nitro, Dodge Ram, Jeep  FOX8Liberty and Jeep Wranglers that could have defective brake tubes. The problem could lead to the loss of brake fluid, making it difficult to brake and posing the threat of a crash.

Ford's recall is expected to begin in July. Chrysler says owners should be notified in August. Fox8

Virgin Racing to get new design base
Wirth Research, which does all the design work for Virgin Racing, is to relocate to a new facility in Banbury. Nick Wirth’s organization is currently housed in half a dozen units on the Telford Road Industrial Estate in Bicester. The company, which was founded in 2003, has been growing steadily in recent years, largely due to its strategic partnerships with Honda Performance Development Inc, which has resulted in success in the American Le Mans Series with an Acura-branded sports prototype. The company then became part of the Virgin Racing consortium and introduced the ground-breaking Virgin VR-01, which is the first F1 car to have been designed using computational fluid dynamics, rather than the traditional aerodynamic research with wind tunnels. The move, which will take place during the August break, will get Wirth and his team all under the same roof for the first time. Although the team does not have a wind tunnel – and has no intention of getting one – it will create space for a seven-post rig and more production equipment, in addition to the company’s two simulators.

The facility in Banbury is in the factory formerly owned by Ascari Cars. Wirth previously ran the Simtek Grand Prix operation in the same town between 1989 and 1995. Ascari moved its production facilities to Spain recently. Joe Saward

Gutiérrez put in the perfect lap leaving the rest of the thirty young racers furiously trying to better the Mexican’s time but to no avail. The top ten drivers were eventually separated by just one second when the checkered flag dropped.

Tour de France team plans 'on standby' - Alonso
(GMM)  Fernando Alonso has admitted it is unlikely his plans for a professional cycling team will be realized for 2011.

The Ferrari driver said last year he would like to set up a team involving his friend and Spanish rider Alberto Contador with the ambition of winning the Tour de France.

He said in 2009: "Contador has one year left on his (Astana) contract.  There's maybe a possibility for the year after.  We'll see."

But Alonso, 28, said at Silverstone that his plans are currently "on standby".

"It's difficult for next year," the double world champion admitted, according to AS newspaper.

Meanwhile, the Spaniard said that with Saturday dawning fine and warm, the weather forecast for Sunday is "not so clear".

At the time of writing, morning rain is forecast for the day of the British grand prix.

British GP: Vettel tops practice 3
Sebastian Vettel
Red Bull
(GMM)  Red Bull dominated the final practice session at sunny Silverstone, but fastest man Sebastian Vettel had a scary moment on Saturday morning.

The entire nose section of the German's RB6 came loose, which if a chassis problem could prove a major obstacle for the team ahead of qualifying in 90 minutes.

It was a scary moment for the 23-year-old and 2009 British grand prix winner, as he ran wide at the ultra-fast new Abbey corner.

Ecclestone happy with new Silverstone
(GMM)  As Silverstone's new 17-year contract kicks off this weekend, Bernie Ecclestone said he is happy with the circuit.

The F1 chief executive has been a staunch critic of the ageing venue, and the sport would have moved away for 2010 had Donington's plans not fallen through.

But on Friday, the F1 cars laid rubber for the first time on the new 'Arena' section, and next year the grid will form up between the Club and Abbey corners, where the skeleton of a new pit and paddock complex can already be seen.

"It's not really like Silverstone at all, is it?" joked Ecclestone, who once described the modern British GP track as a country fair masquerading as a world event.

McLaren removes blown diffuser from car
McLaren fails to copy the flying Red Bull
Red Bull
(GMM)  Overnight in the McLaren pits, the British team have removed an update package - including the Red Bull-style blown diffuser - from the MP4-25 car.

Red Bull's Mark Webber suspected the championship leaders of "sandbagging" in Friday practice at Silverstone, but in fact McLaren was not happy with the improvements.

"It hasn't been perfect, that's the truth," said Jenson Button after the afternoon session, when he was 13th fastest.

Lewis Hamilton, although half a second quicker than the sister car, added: "The feeling was positive first thing but the changes we made didn't make it better and that happens sometimes.

"It's not something you can just bolt on," added the world championship leader.

Danica’s NASCAR adventure a mistake, Franchitti says
Dario Franchitti thinks Danica Patrick is making a mistake by trying to drive in IndyCar and NASCAR at the same time.

The cars are “night and day,” he said. “Trust me. Going in either direction, there’s a lot of adjustment. It’s her decision, but I wouldn’t do it.”

The story of an exception: the BMW M3 is 25
The anticipation began in August 1985. That summer Germany’s automobile magazines built up their readers’ expectations for the fastest 3 Series BMW of all times. The key data revealed a sports car that would punch way above its class: 200 hp, top speed in excess of 230 km/h, sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h inside 6.7 seconds. However, the story was that “the most dynamic BMW 3 Series drivers” would have to wait until mid-1986. The pundits were right on that count. But one prediction missed the mark by a mile: anyone who “wants to be in the A Team needs to be turbocharged under the bonnet”. Not true.

Danica disappointed she can't perform better
Danica Patrick says she is disappointed she can’t perform better but has come to the realization that her stock-car career will involve a slow learning process.

“I’m starting to realize that this is really challenging, it’s really hard and I need not be so hard on myself and I need to just stay upbeat and take every lap as an improvement from the one before and that’s it, just keep marching forward,” Patrick said in a news conference following practice.

“I feel kind of bad that it’s not more amazing out there, [that] I’m not higher up because it’s more entertaining for the fans and a better story. But it’s just very hard. It speaks volumes of how good these drivers are in stock cars.”

Friday news briefs from Silverstone
(GMM)  Williams' new blown exhaust will stay on the FW32 for the rest of the Silverstone weekend, while at McLaren, Lewis Hamilton said a similar upgrade is a "step forward" for the MP4-25.

However, the 2008 world champion was more than a second off the pace on Friday, with Red Bull's Mark Webber accusing the British team of "sandbagging".  Hamilton agreed that he expects to be faster on Saturday and beyond.

Rally driver Kimi Raikkonen would complete a "very good lineup" for Renault in 2011, according to Robert Kubica, but the Enstone based team is in no rush to replace the Russian pay-driver and solid rookie Vitaly Petrov.  "I would say our second seat is interesting for many drivers," said team boss Eric Boullier.

British GP: Webber sets pace before electrical problem
(GMM)  Mark Webber set Friday's fastest practice time, but the Australian also sat out the end of the afternoon session while Red Bull repaired an electrical problem.

But in the sister RB6, 2009 winner Sebastian Vettel had been the quickest runner in the morning, demonstrating that the Austrian-owned team is still the favorite for British grand prix victory.

McLaren debuted its Red Bull-like blown exhaust layout on Friday, but Lewis Hamilton - the fastest of the two MP5-25s - was 1.5 seconds off the pace.

His teammate Jenson Button, nearly two seconds too slow in the afternoon, said: "We know it (the new package) will take a little bit getting used to and I am sure there is setup work needed, so we are going to have a busy couple of days getting it right."

Returning drivers need year to be back on pace - de la Rosa
(GMM) Pedro de la Rosa insists a driver making a comeback to formula one needs a full year to get back up to speed.

The highest profile returnee in 2010 is Michael Schumacher, but Spaniard de la Rosa - two years younger than the great German - is also back in F1 full-time after seven years as McLaren's test driver.

"At the highest level it is not easy," the Sauber driver said at Silverstone.

"As the season goes on it is getting better. After a few races you are simply not yet right back on top," added de la Rosa.

"To really be there again, you need a full year."

De la Rosa insists he was never completely away from the cockpit; he was regularly at the wheel of McLaren's state-of-the-art simulator, and occasionally tested on track.

But "in order to really compete with these guys, you probably need a whole year," he added.

Cosworth engages with UK MoD to develop on-vehicle electronics to improve safety
Cosworth, a leading supplier of high performance engineering technologies has agreed to undertake a program with the UK Ministry of Defense to develop electronic Accident Data Recorder systems for military vehicles aimed at improving crew safety.

Cosworth has extensive experience in designing and manufacturing high performance electronics capable of withstanding extreme environmental and dynamic stresses gained from over two decades of developing solutions for Formula One motorsport. In recent years Cosworth has led the way in transferring high performance motorsport technologies into a diverse array of adjacent markets including aerospace & defense, automotive and clean energy generation.

The Accident Data Recorder program is the result of ongoing engagement with the Centre for Defense Enterprise and will rely on Cosworth’s capabilities to engineer and deliver custom solutions in short timescales to provide forensic information on road traffic accidents, IED (improvised explosive device) incidents and structural integrity for vehicles used by UK armed forces in Afghanistan.

Further initiatives are already underway in which Cosworth engineers are working alongside relevant Project Teams to identify and address requirements for high performance mechanical and electronic technologies that can improve crew safety and fuel efficiency within the defense arena.

Tim Routsis, Chief Executive, Cosworth Group:
“We are delighted to be using our electronics expertise to assist in the MoD’s attempts to improve the safety of our troops in Afghanistan. It is encouraging to see how UK MoD, particularly the Centre for Defense Enterprise, is recognizing the potential of the technology available in businesses like Cosworth.”

Helen Almey, MoD Centre for Defense Enterprise:
“CDE is keen to pull through technology and innovation from outside the traditional defense sphere. We have a commitment to improve the protection and safety of our troops in Afghanistan and this announcement represents another step forward by CDE in this endeavor. CDE is always open to new ideas and innovation that could be used by our Armed Forces.”

Chris Aylett, Chief Executive Officer, Motorsport Industry Association:
“The MIA is pleased that our 'Motorsport to Defense Initiative’, launched just three years ago by the new Minister of Defense Lord Astor, is yielding such immediate results. The UK motorsport industry can play a vital part in the recovery plans of our economy. We employ world-beating engineers delivering rapid, highly innovative, high performance engineering solutions. The UK’s Ministry of Defense has recognized how this unique British resource can enhance the protection and effectiveness of our front-line armed forces”.

Lord Astor of Hever, Under Secretary of State for Defense:
"These contracts we have placed with Cosworth could provide important innovations in battlefield technology. Enabling combat medics to have an early idea of what injuries they may have to treat could lead to more lives being saved as a result. And by assessing the damage to the vehicle caused by an IED we can both capture forensic details to help tackle insurgents and make more informed decisions on repairing the equipment and future designs."

Schumacher admits 2010 season lost
Michael Schumacher says he has already written off this season and it cannot get any worse.

Going into the halfway point of the season with this weekend's British Grand Prix, the seven-times champion currently trails leader Lewis Hamilton by 93 points.

"What happened in Valencia was frustrating because you think you've a great idea, a plan, and then you sit and let everybody by," said Schumacher.

"It wasn't very comfortable, but that's part of the game, and the aim now is to move forward. It's what we always want.

"Ahead of this race we've much higher hopes than in Valencia, but considering where we have been, it's difficult to see it getting any worse."

Full HRT race seat decision due at Silverstone
(GMM)  It is not yet clear if Bruno Senna has permanently lost his HRT race drive.

The struggling Spanish team's boss Colin Kolles told reporters at Silverstone late on Thursday that reserve Sakon Yamamoto will be regular driver Karun Chandhok's replacement teammate this weekend.

He said no more information will be available until a press release is issued on Friday morning.

But Kolles did tell the BBC that Yamamoto, who turns 28 on Friday, is not guaranteed the seat for the rest of 2010.

"A decision as to who will drive for Hispania for the rest of the season will be taken over the weekend," he said.

With the situation almost certainly related to the drivers' available sponsorship funds, Finland's Turun Sanomat said Japanese Yamamoto is better financed than HRT's other reserve driver Christian Klien.

Senna, the 26-year-old nephew of the great Ayrton Senna, made his debut with HRT this year with the backing of Brazilian companies Banco Cruzeiro do Sul and Embratel.

New Silverstone won't be any better for passing
Overtaking will be no easier on the new Silverstone circuit than it was on the previous layout, several drivers have warned.

The historic Northamptonshire track has undergone a major revamp since Formula 1 last raced in Britain a year ago, with a completely new middle section adding half a mile to the lap distance.

The changes were initially conceived with MotoGP in mind following Silverstone’s temporary loss of the F1 contract, but organisers predicted they would add at least two new overtaking opportunities on a circuit whose flowing high-speed nature makes passing difficult for aerodynamically sensitive grand prix cars.

Allmendinger, Petty exchange words UPDATE It was Allmendinger's passion that pushed him to the limit on Saturday night when cameras caught the racer in a heated exchange with his company's namesake, seven-time champion Richard Petty. According to Robbie Loomis, RPM vice president of competition, the King broke one of his own personal rules against approaching a driver during a race. "Richard has been in this position more times than anybody as both a driver and an owner," Loomis said. "He knows the car owner doesn't talk to a driver after a race or after an accident. You never criticize or condemn someone in public. There's nothing you can say to anybody that's going to make them feel worse that they already feel." Loomis went through a similar situation at Martinsville Speedway in 1997 with the late Bobby Hamilton not long after the King had retired from the cockpit. The former crew chief contends, "the longer you're out of the driver's seat the easier it seems to you. And it isn't easy." Loomis feels that Allmendinger is integral to RPM's future. He admits that it's the company's responsibility "to nurture" the driver. He's seen Allmendinger "adapt quickly" to a lot of different tracks, including Daytona, which likely added further to the driver's disappointment. "The King told me, 'AJ has a knack for that place. He's got it figured out,'" Loomis said. "There's not a lot of people that do." Allmendinger is in the final year of his contract with RPM. Although he has been offered a renewal, there are other suitors in the Cup garage as well. More from FoxSports

07/04/10 AJ Allmendinger and car owner Richard Petty had a heated exchange in the garage area at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night. Allmendinger pulled away from the seven-time NASCAR champion, turned his back on his boss and then stormed away from The King. Allmendinger declined to talk to reporters, but the executive vice president of Richard Petty Motorsports said his driver was merely frustrated by having a strong car and a poor finish. "I always say the car owner shouldn't talk to the driver anytime after the race, especially after an accident," Petty VP Robbie Loomis said. "I think Richard's been here so many times, he's been through this stuff and he was just trying to get him to loosen up and let the boys do their stuff on fixing the car and getting back out there. Anytime you talk to somebody at the wrong time, it always causes discussion that needs to be worked out. That's all that happened." Allmendinger was still hot when Loomis got to the garage a few minutes after the incident, which happened 66 laps into the 400-mile race. "He's a hard-charging competitor and he's as passionate as anybody out there," Loomis said. "Unfortunately, two Daytona races with great cars and we haven't been able to bring the finish home." Sauber undecided about KERS in 2011
(GMM)  Sauber has not decided whether or not to run KERS in 2011.

With the car weight limit increasing next year and the weight distribution to be fixed, Force India's chief operating officer Otmar Szafnauer said this week that there is "no other option" than to use the energy recovery technology.

But Germany's Auto Motor und Sport had said that while the bigger teams are all planning to go with KERS, the new teams are almost certainly not.

And the publication said it is not clear if middle of the grid teams like Sauber and Toro Rosso will use KERS next year.

Castol livery for Dyson
Dyson in Castrol Colors
The Land Speed Record has been broken twenty-one times by cars using Castrol lubricants. Four of those records were set at the Bonneville Salt Flats, eighty-seven miles down the road from Tooele, UT where Dyson Racing will be unveiling their new Castrol-themed livery this weekend at the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix.
The #16 Mazda Lola Coupe of Chris Dyson and Guy Smith started the American Le Mans season with a BP Biofuels design at the 12 Hours of Sebring and switched to the white, blue and red ARCO signage for the last two races. “That is one of the strengths of the diversity of the venues on the ALMS schedule: as we visit different regions Click For More across North America, we are able to align our graphic design with a specific market and what fits best for our sponsors,” said Chris Dyson. “ARCO is a west coast brand and now we are going to markets where Castrol has a strong presence.

Cosworth staying in 2011 as chairman Williams steps down
(GMM)  Williams will continue to be powered by Cosworth engines in 2011, the British team said in the Silverstone paddock on Thursday.

It had been rumored that the team was eyeing a switch to Renault, but Cosworth's Mark Gallagher responded by insisting a three-year contract is in place.

Due to the duration of the current contract, and the fact the situation will be unchanged in 2011, it is believed the Grove based outfit will not issue a media statement to confirm the identity of its ongoing engine supplier for 2011.

Ferrari unveils new 2011 logo
New Ferrari Logo
Ferrari has revealed a brand-new logo which the team will put into usage from the start of next season. The modified style, which sees the 'SF' section removed as well as the area which previously included the controversial Marlboro barcode, was presented by drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa at Silverstone on Thursday.

With Team Principal Stefano Domenicali having confirmed that the official title 'Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro' will remain, the new logo features prominent white sections in-line with the Maranello outfit's title sponsorship from Spanish banking group Santander.

The legendary prancing horse symbol itself, contained within the new outlines, remains unchanged. GPUpdate.net

F1 Safety car rules tweaked after Ferrari furor
(GMM)  F1's safety car rules have been tweaked in the wake of the Valencia controversy.

The 12 teams met at Silverstone ahead of the British grand prix to discuss the incidents that so enraged Ferrari and its supporters.

The rule tweak, agreed between the teams and race director Charlie Whiting, addresses Ferrari's complaint that Fernando Alonso was disadvantaged by following the rules and not overtaking the safety car on the Spanish street circuit.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, received a drive-through penalty for overtaking the safety car that was applied so late he was still able to finish the race in second place.

Ferrari launches new F1 logo after barcode controversy
(GMM)  Ferrari on Thursday unveiled a new logo for its formula one team.

The current logo features the infamous 'barcode' that was recently removed from the F10 car, following suggestions it subliminally advertised Marlboro cigarettes.

But the new logo, to be used from 2011, remains red and white and is more angular than before, moving some observers to surmise that it reminds them even more of main sponsor Philip Morris' product.

And team boss Stefano Domenicali told reporters at Silverstone: "I can confirm that next year the team name will be the same -- Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro."

Schu would be winning with Red Bull car - Ecclestone
Michael Schumacher, strapped by slow Mercedes
(GMM)  The Mercedes car is the reason for Michael Schumacher's performance struggle in 2010.

That is the belief of F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone, when assessing the first half of the seven time world champion's return season to F1 this year.

"He has found a much more difficult situation than he would have counted on," the 79-year-old said in an interview with Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"It's not a question of him, but of the car.  If Michael was sitting in the Red Bull, he would immediately be as he was before," added the Briton.

'Glad' Ecclestone flags less teams for F1
Bernie Ecclestone
(GMM)  Although moves are afoot to fill the 13th team space in pitlane, Bernie Ecclestone thinks formula one could actually lose a team in 2011.

And the F1 chief executive said a drop from 24 to 22 teams would be no bad thing.

"I would be glad," the Briton is quoted by Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"There is a long list of teams that want to be in formula one," said Ecclestone.  "Whether they have the ability and the resources is another story."

'Nothing wrong' with Vettel's old car - Webber
(GMM)  Mark Webber has played down suggestions his allocation of chassis for the British grand prix demonstrates he is not treated equally with his teammate.

After his Barcelona and Monaco-winning car was damaged in his spectacular Valencia crash, the Australian will drive 'Luscious Liz' at Silverstone -- the chassis humorously named by Sebastian Vettel at the beginning of the season.

But after sub-standard performances in May, Vettel was given a new car in Turkey.

Red Bull has now repaired Luscious Liz.

"There was nothing wrong with it.  It's fine.  It's all we've got anyway," Webber told reporters at the team's Milton Keynes factory on Wednesday.

Also fully fit for this weekend's race is the Australian himself, despite some minor injuries caused by his backflip crash with Heikki Kovalainen's Lotus.

"I had a bit of whiplash, and I bashed my right foot pretty hard on the top of the chassis," he revealed.

"I knew straight away that I'd hit my big toe pretty hard (but) you could injure yourself more in your lounge room."

Meanwhile, Webber made clear his opinion after Lotus technical boss blamed him for the Valencia crash.

When British reporter Byron Young, of the Mirror, virtually launched his car whilst driving the Red Bull simulator, Webber observed wryly: "You didn't even have any shitboxes to avoid."
