Thai rookie Alexander Albon leaves Budapest a happy man after clinching the GP3 Series lead after pocketing his third victory of the 2016 season. The ART Grand Prix ace started from P2 on the front row and made a great getaway to pass Jenzer Motorsport’s Arjun Maini for the lead of the race. From then on; he drove a mature and controlled race and bagged fastest lap in the process to head the Drivers’ Standings. Maini achieved his maiden GP3 podium whilst ART Grand Prix’s and Scuderia Ferrari Team development driver Charles Leclerc was third.

Slightly cooler temperatures greeted the paddock this morning with Maini starting from reverse pole. The Indian made a clean getaway but Albon fired away from his slot to move into P1. Leclerc remained in P3 ahead of Ralph Boschung. Akash Nandy was caught up in a start-line incident when his car received contact which flipped his Jenzer Motorsport machine over. The safety car was deployed whilst the Malaysian driver was able to get out of the car unaided.

Sergey Sirotkin has put his title challenge back on track with a crushing win in this morning's Sprint Race at the Hungaroring to add to yesterday's podium, capitalizing on his rival's mistakes before leaving everyone behind to claim victory ahead of Jordan King and Norman Nato.

The groundwork for the win was set up at the start: poleman King made a good escape when the lights went out but Nato was slow away from second and was soon fighting with Nobuharu Matsushita, but Sirotkin was faster than them both to slide inside the squabble and into P2 at Turn one, with his teammate coming together with Antonio Giovinazzi behind him and Raffaele Marciello running wide to avoid the collision.

Horner questions Nico Rosberg's fastest lap (Update)
UPDATE Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has kept his pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix after stewards determined that no further action was required over his alleged failure to slow for yellow flags.

Rosberg was alleged to have not slowed sufficiently for yellow flags, which were showing at Turn 8, after McLaren's Fernando Alonso had just recovered from a spin at Turn 9.
