After Yamaha dominated FP1 at the GoPro British Grand Prix, Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) came out firing on all cylinders in FP2 to go fastest overall on day one, with home hero Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol) just 0.005 off the Italian’s 2:01.358 in second. Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) had a very strong opening day as he got within 0.061 of Dovizioso in FP2 to end the day third quickest after topping FP1.

Alonso says all racing is dangerous
Fernando Alonso is happy to accept the risks of moving to IndyCar, despite the serious injuries suffered by Robert Wickens in last weekend's race in the American series. Wickens suffered fractures to both legs, his right arm and a spinal cord injury after being pitched into the perimeter fence after a collision with Ryan Hunter-Reay.
Having announced he will not race in Formula 1 next year, Alonso is expected to pen a full-time IndyCar deal as he goes in search of victory at the Indianapolis 500 to complete the 'Triple Crown'.

Rain has Changed the Schedule
08/24/18 Hello from Madison, Illinois just outside of downtown St Louis. It is not a pretty day here yet. It has been raining heavily since early this morning at the track. So heavily that the expressway was too wet to drive the speed limit. The rain has just started to stop here at the track. But I do not hear any track drying yet.

Shane van Gisbergen set a solid benchmark for rival Kiwi Scott McLaughlin as the Supercars Championship battle continued on neutral ground in South Australia.
Van Gisbergen, who won the historic night race in Sydney a fortnight ago, looked more rally than Supercar driver at the spectacular Tailem Bend facility as the field tried to come to grips with the unknown layout.
