FOX Sports and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) are set to deliver a record nine hours of live multi-platform coverage from drag racing’s biggest, oldest and richest weekend of the year, as the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals close out the regular season from Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis on Aug. 30 – Sept. 4.

Spa-Francorchamps - Max Verstappen is set to take "a bunch of penalties" at Monza after his Renault engine failed again and forced him to retire from Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix, his Red Bull boss Christian Horner predicted.

IndyCar narrowly avoided another fatality at Gateway Saturday night when Will Power spun on the first race restart in front of the entire field. Ed Carpenter had nowhere to go, spun backward and flew on top of Power.
It was only by a miracle that Carpenter's car did not take off Power's head resulting in another IndyCar fatality.
Troy Coughlin, Jr. resigns from NHRA Top Fuel Ride

Troy Coughlin Jr. has removed himself from the seat of the SealMaster Top Fuel dragster, citing a desire to get more experience in the Top Alcohol Dragster ranks. The third-generation driver has been racing the Kalitta Motorsports entry for the first 17 races of the 2017 season.
Coughlin sits 10th in points, qualified for the Countdown to the Championship at the time of his resignation. His departure all but clears the way for his teammate, Shawn Langdon, to overtake him at the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals, the final event of the regular season.

Urrutia, Franzoni post exciting Mazda Road to Indy wins
Santi Urrutia (Belardi Auto Racing) passed Juan Piedrahita (Team Pelfrey) with two laps to go in the Indy Lights race at Gateway Motorsports Park and drove on to his second win of the season. Kyle Kaiser (Juncos Racing) finished fourth and needs only to start the Sept. 3 season finale at Watkins Glen to clinch the championship and $1 million Mazda scholarship to move up to the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2018.
Victor Franzoni passed championship rival Anthony Martin on Lap 19 and went on to win the Pro Mazda Championship presented by Cooper Tires race at Gateway. With the victory, Franzoni (Juncos Racing) took a two-point lead over Martin (Cape Motorsports) with a doubleheader race weekend remaining Sept. 2-3 at Watkins Glen.
Sergio Sette Camara has claimed his first FIA Formula 2 Championship victory in fine style with a storming drive in this morning’s sprint race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, making an astonishing getaway when the lights went out and running off into the distance to win from Nyck De Vries and Luca Ghiotto.

Developer David Jaindl presented his proposal to Lower Nazareth Township supervisors Wednesday. Plans include 18 acres of commercial space, 79 acres of industrial space and 37 acres of housing that could include apartments, townhouses and twins. An additional 27 acres is proposed for a conservation zone, which Jaindl said is open space at the request of the township.
Keene Leaves MSR for New Role at Action Express Tim Keene has departed Michael Shank Racing for a new top-level management position at Action Express Racing, as part of a shakeup that’s likely to include multiple driver changes at the defending IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship-winning squad.
Keene, who served as general manager for the Ohio-based squad since the start of its factory Acura NSX GT3 program, made the move following the last round at Road America earlier this month.
Saturday Update from Gateway Motorsports Park The day is unfolding here at Gateway with the Indy Lights session on track before their race today. The sun is out making the temperatures in the mid 80s. With the IndyCar being run at 8:45 pm, the temperature should be much more comfortable by then, in the low 70s.
Charles Leclerc put in a crushing display of dominance for victory in this afternoon’s FIA Formula 2 Championship feature race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, storming off from pole when the lights went out and leaving his rivals floundering in his wake as he brought home his sixth win of the season by almost half a minute, ahead of Artem Markelov and Oliver Rowland.

In a somewhat surprising turn of events after Mercedes was so strong Friday, Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel ran 1-2 in final practice for the Belgian GP at Spa Saturday morning.
Raikkonen's lap was so scorching in fact that Hamilton could only get to with 0.198s of the Finn. And Vettel could not match it either, though he did edge ahead of Hamilton. Vettel and Hamilton set almost identical times as they finished around two tenths back from the Finn, with Verstappen a long way back (over 1-sec.) in fourth.

Will Power joined an elite group of 50-time Indy car pole winners when he captured the Verizon P1 Award in record fashion this evening at Gateway Motorsports Park. Power will lead the Verizon IndyCar Series field to the green flag to start Saturday night's Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Valvoline.
