NASCAR and ARCA announced today a new championship format for 2020 that will see the continuation of three historic regional championship series and the coronation of a new fourth champion, all under the ARCA Menards Series banner.
The series provide an integral development step for young drivers who aspire to move up to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series or NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series; as well as a highly-competitive professional level for short-track veterans.
The Cadillac DPi-V.R has been given another weight break ahead of next weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans.
Confirmed in the final round of Balance of Performance adjustments for the year, issued by IMSA on Wednesday, the Dallara-built DPi contender has received a 15 kg reduction in minimum weight, bringing the car down to 945 kg.

Season 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship is almost ready to go as Mercedes-Benz announced today a technology supply agreement with Venturi Racing in the run-up to the season opener in late November at Diriyah.
In Season 6, Venturi Racing will run two examples of the new Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01, alongside the cars fielded by the works Mercedes team, in order to accelerate the manufacturer's learning curve in its debut Formula E season.

The NTT IndyCar Series is ready to test its brand-new aeroscreen developed by Red Bull Advanced Technologies and today Scott Dixon sat in the car to see how much the tightly curved aeroscreen will distort the driver's vision.

UPDATE Looking at viewership instead of rating, the final viewership for the Russian Grand Prix on ESPN2 was 511,000, up 29 percent from last year (396,000) vs. up 22.2% for the rating. All but three of the 16 races this year are up over last year.

Rossi sits in his Holden before wadding up the rear end
A pre-Bathurst 1000 test for Walkinshaw Andretti United wildcard duo Alexander Rossi and James Hinchcliffe has been cut a day short after Rossi crashed the #27 Holden ZB Commodore.
Rossi made rear end contact with the wall on the exit of Turn 4 at Winton Motor Raceway, where the IndyCar stars were to have conducted a three-day test ahead of their first tilt at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

Road America's President and General Manager, Mike Kertscher, announced Road America's 2020 season schedule today. The four-mile, 14-turn road course will host 11 racing weekends throughout the 2020 season, with a number of weekends encompassing several series' providing non-stop action.

Matt Tifft is a Safe Bet for the Delaware Lottery at Dover
The Delaware Lottery, the state's official sports betting agency, will partner with Matt Tifft and Front Row Motorsports (FRM) for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway on Oct. 6.
The modern Delaware Lottery started in 1975, after more than 100 years when no lotteries operated in the state. In 2018, full scale Sports Lottery wagering was introduced at the three Delaware casino sportsbooks. DTM begins trial with environmentally friendlier fuels

The DTM has initiated a long-term development program for a emission-reduced high-performance fuel, beginning with trials at this weekend’s season finale, at the Hockenheimring (4-6 October).
The special fuel, developed by long-time series partner Aral, consists of 50 per cent high-quality renewable components derived from waste products. As a result, it has a carbon footprint more than 30 per cent lower than fuels manufactured entirely from mineral oils.

For Wickens, the wedding presented the opportunity to honor a promise he made to both his new wife and himself, one which he told NBC Sports’ Kelli Servast in an interview that aired before IndyCar’s season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg in March.
“One of my main goals is that I need to be on my feet at my wedding,” Wickens said in the interview. “That’s really almost what’s driving me more than getting back into an IndyCar.
Tanner Foust had a perfect weekend at the ARX of Austin at the Circuit of the Americas, taking his Andretti Rallycross Beetle to wins in every Heat race, the Semifinal and Final of the event. In an enthralling Final, Foust took the lead on the third lap and then withstood extreme pressure from a trio of Subarus. Teammate Cabot Bigham was competitive all weekend, but failed to finish in the Final after contact from the Subaru of Andreas Bakkerud.

SCCA Pro Racing announced that F3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda will travel North to Canada, in 2020, making its international debut on the streets of Quebec during the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres Aug. 7-9, 2020.

A 27-year-old drag racer has been killed in a high-speed accident at a racing event in southeast Kansas.
The Montgomery County Chronicle reports Joe Hunt died at the Coffeyville Street Drags at Industrial Park at around 3 p.m. on Saturday. Witnesses told Dragzine that Hunt lost control of his Trans Am at the finish line and made contact with his opponent.

In Simona De Silvestro and Thomas Preining, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team welcomes two newcomers on board. De Silvestro and Preining will support the works team as test and development drivers in its debut season. They are involved in the simulator work in Weissach and will be on-site at select Formula E races. The two drivers will also be available to the team for in-season testing.
