Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc will take a grid penalty at this weekend’s Brazilian Formula One Grand Prix after team boss Mattia Binotto said his car’s power unit was damaged and needed replacing.
The 22-year-old is third in the championship, 14 points ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen with two races remaining.
“Charles will get a new Power Unit (at Interlagos), as his was damaged on Saturday in Austin, which meant he had to use a previously used and less powerful version for the rest of the weekend,” Binotto said in a race preview.

Mid-Engine C8 Chevy Corvette Postponed Until February 2020
C8 Corvette delayed
When Chevy first announced the long-awaited mid-engine C8 Corvette, it said the car would be arriving in customer's hands by the end of 2019. Well, that's no longer the case. A Chevrolet spokesperson confirmed to Road & Track the C8 has been delayed until February 2020.
The delay is a result of several factors. A six-week UAW strike meant the end of the last-gen C7's production would be pushed back until next week. The Bowling Green assembly plant also needs additional time to retool its facilities, as well as hire and train a second shift.

Frank Williams still supporting daughter as team boss
Claire Williams has taken the Williams team to the bottom and kept it firmly in last place
(GMM) As Williams' abysmal 2019 season races on, boss Claire Williams is still insisting she will not quit.
The daughter of founder Sir Frank Williams told Yahoo Sport that she has "of course" thought about giving up as the iconic team struggles to recover under her leadership.
"I wasn't prepared to give up because I would only be accused of being the daughter that brought her dad's iconic team down to the ground, and there was no way I was going to have that resting on my back for the rest of my life," said Williams.

Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas of Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin
Camry drivers continue a record season for Toyota, leading the manufacturer to its third Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) manufacturer’s championship at Arizona’s ISM Raceway on Sunday, one event ahead of the season finale. Few have driven a Tesla to the point at which the vehicle really starts to show its age. But Tesloop, a shuttle service in Southern California comprised solely of Teslas, was ticking the odometers of its cars well past 300,000 miles with no signs of slowing.
The company’s fleet of seven vehicles -- a mix of Model Xs, Model 3s and a Model S -- are now among the highest-mileage Teslas in the world. They zip almost daily between Los Angeles, San Diego, and destinations in between. Each of Tesloop’s cars are regularly racking up about 17,000 miles per month (roughly eight times the average for corporate fleet mileage). Many need to fully recharge at least twice each day.

Whincup and Lowndes reign supreme at Sandown, McLaughlin Champ
Winners Whincup and Lowndes
Defending Virgin Australia Supercars Champion Scott McLaughlin has sealed back-to-back Series titles at today's Penrite Oil Sandown 500.
The great Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup won today's 500km race and claimed the PIRTEK Enduro Cup, while McLaughlin finished ninth after being relegated to the back of the grid for its controversial Bathurst illegal engine.
One of Indy car racing’s finest engine builders has died. Louis “Sonny” Meyer, the son of the Indianapolis 500’s first three-time winner, was 89.
Meyer got his start in motorsports when his father, Louis, and Dale Drake purchased the Offenhauser engine business early in 1946. He was one of the quietest men in the paddock but was instrumental in as many as 15 Indianapolis 500 victories.
Penske Mustang used illegal engine to win Bathurst race
No wonder that Penske Mustang was so fast at Bathurst and is much slower this weekend at Sundown
Scott McLaughlin and Alex Premat will start the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 from the rear of the grid, as the result of an engine rule breach at Bathurst.
The Confederation of Australian Motorsport has released the below statement confirming a rear of grid Sandown start, a $30,000 fine and disqualification from the Bathurst qualifying and Shootout sessions.
That strips McLaughlin of his Bathurst ARMOR ALL Pole and lap record, but leaves his win in the Sunday race, which took place after an engine change, unaffected.
