Porsche denies responsibility for Paul Walker's death
The remains of Walker's Porsche Carrera GT
The German sports car manufacturer Porsche has issued a statement denying responsibility for the death of Fast & Furious star Paul Walker, who died in a high-speed crash in November 2013.

Porsche released its statement to the media in response to a wrongful death lawsuit filed on 28 September by the actor's daughter Meadow Walker in Los Angeles.

"As we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities' reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed," the manufacturer said.

Kenseth meeting with France today (Update) UPDATE Not only was Kenseth "not remorseful" for wrecking Logano, but he also said that he "would likely do it again."  'The boys are having at it' just like Brian France wanted. Great Stuff!!

11/16/15
Matt Kenseth has a meeting with Brian France this afternoon to discuss the fallout from his intentional wrecking of Joey Logano at Martinsville.
Matt Kenseth is scheduled to meet with NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France today. Kenseth, who has been suspended two races for intentionally crashing Joey Logano two weeks ago at Martinsville, is eligible to return to the #20 Dollar General Toyota Camry for this weekend’s Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead. Likely, a subject of conversation will be Kenseth's comments since his suspension, when he noted that comments from France "almost condoned" what Kenseth did. France, had called Logano's wrecking of Kenseth at Kansas "quintessential NASCAR."

It goes without saying we'd love to be a fly on the wall at this meeting. France is likely still seething from Kenseth raining on the parade of his perfectly choreographed playoff season. Then, Kenseth added insult to injury by throwing France's gooing and gushing comments after Kansas right back in the face of the NASCAR Chairman and CEO.

Team Penske plans to eventually have four teams
Penske Team boss Tim Cindrc
Penske Team boss Tim Cindric
For Team Penske to make the next progression longer-term, president Tim Cindric said, it will eventually have to field four teams, like powers Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports. Until then, he said, the organization will not be regarded as an "elite team."

"I don't think we're looked at as that yet," Cindric said. "I mean, you look at the pedigree, and you look at the time, it's only been since Joey arrived (in 2013) that we've had two cars consistently contending. I think you could say maybe there was a year with Brad and Kurt (Busch, in 2011) but before that, if you look at the 90s and you look at the 2000s time period, we were hit and miss. I don't think that we got to the point where we were a consistent contender with multiple cars, and I think we're almost over that hump. But I don't think we're viewed yet as an elite team within NASCAR because we only run two cars."

Changes coming to Phoenix track?
Earnhardt leads Harvick at Pheonix Sunday night
Earnhardt leads Harvick at Phoenix Sunday night
After five-consecutive fall sell-outs at Phoenix International Raceway, the track is considering several capital improvement's for the half-century old track - including the possibility of moving the start-finish line to the backstretch. "I think we're going to take a really hard look at our master plan over the next couple of months and start to answer some of those questions about how best to maximize the opportunities here at Phoenix," PIR track president Bryan Sperber said.

"If this were a baseball game, we're probably in the first inning of that. So, there will probably be a lot of different things that will surface and will vet a lot of the potential opportunities and land on a really good plan for Phoenix going forward."

Vettel hopes Ferrari can catch Mercedes over the winter
Sebastian Vettel hailed the progress made by Ferrari after he finished in third position in Brazilian Grand Prix, behind Mercedes pair Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton.

"It was a good race," he said. "We were close as we had never been before, which is a massive achievement, considering that Mercedes was pushing all the way, as they had nothing to lose.

A crew member works the water off of pit lane
Rain has delayed the start of Sunday's Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 (2:30 p.m. ET, NBC, MRN, SiriusXM), putting the next-to-last race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup playoffs on hold.

Rain began falling around 1:25 p.m. ET at Phoenix International Raceway, which underwent a ceremonial race-day name change to Jeff Gordon Raceway to honor the four-time series champion. A fleet of NASCAR Air Titan track dryers began circulating the 1-mile track approximately 20 minutes later as precipitation began to taper off.

Brazilian GP: Hamilton leads another Mercedes 1-2 parade in final practice
Vettewl looks in disbelief at the Mercedes lap times
Vettewl looks in disbelief at the Mercedes lap times
Lewis Hamilton nipped Nico Rosberg to lead another boring Mercedes 1-2 parade in the final practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Despite a spin Hamilton set a lap of 1m12.070s, beating Rosberg by 0.123 seconds in the soft-tire qualifying simulation.  Hamilton said: "Don't know what happened there. The rear gave up real quick and I couldn't really react to it."

Everyone else is out to lunch. One has to laugh when Niki Lauda said this week that Ferrari has caught Mercedes. Talk about putting one’s foot in one’s mouth.

Harvey eyes IndyCar seat for 2016
Good drivers like Jack Harvey have to bring money (i.e. buy their ride)

22-year-old Indy Lights driver Jack Harvey is confident he can land an IndyCar seat for 2016 with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports

"Things are looking quite good, and I'd be in the same situation right now whether I won the Lights championship or not," Harvey told RACER.com. "You still need to find a lot of money, which we're getting close on, and it's no secret we're talking to Sam [Schmidt] about being in that second seat next to James Hinchcliffe.

"We've had a great working relationship with the team in Indy Lights, and we were very fast in our IndyCar test at Sonoma (pictured, TOP), and I'd love to be with Sam and Ric Peterson in IndyCar because that's why we went there to begin with. That's our best full-time drive option at the moment."
