There were just two changes to the field for the second day of testing, as Ralph Boschung took a turn in the MP Motorsport and Roy Nissany tried out the Trident.

City of Long Beach looks for new ways to put screws to IndyCar race (Update)
The Long Beach Arena and a parking lot are where the GP paddock is located every April.
UPDATE In researching this further, according to this measure we found, passed by the Long Beach City Council back on October 22nd, the race should be safe until 2028. There has been some discussion about the future use of the 13 acre parcel located on the east side of the Convention Center and the possible impact on the Grand Prix.
The significant point is the recognition that no new development would take place until after the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics have been completed since there will be at least five events held in this very area.

GM And LG Chem Plan $2.3 Billion Electric Battery Venture In Ohio
GM and LG Chem say they'll create more than 1,100 jobs in the area around Lordstown, Ohio — where GM closed a manufacturing plant earlier this year. Here, GM's former Lordstown Complex is seen one year ago.
General Motors (NYSE: GM) and LG Chem announced plans to mass-produce battery cells for future battery-electric vehicles. Together, the companies will invest up to a total of $2.3 billion through a new, equally owned joint venture company.

The state-of-the art plant will use the most advanced manufacturing processes all under one roof to produce cells efficiently, with little waste, and will benefit from strong economies of scale throughout the value chain. The plant will be extremely flexible and able to adapt to ongoing advances in technology and materials.
The collaboration also includes a joint development agreement that brings together two leaders in battery science to develop and produce advanced battery technologies, with the goal of reducing battery costs to industry-leading levels.
Red Bull prepared to protest Ferrari in 2020 - Marko
The good doctor is whining again
(GMM) Dr Helmut Marko has slammed Ferrari's EUR 50,000 penalty for the fuel infringement in Abu Dhabi as "a joke".
The Red Bull-Honda official admitted that he spread the news about the FIA's investigation into the incorrect fuel load declared by Ferrari prior to the race last Sunday "so that things are not swept under the carpet".
Red Bull has been central to the speculation about the legality of Ferrari's 2019 power unit, which preceded a flurry of technical clarifications that appeared to diminish the Italian team's performance late in 2019.
NASCAR Names Premier Partners Under New Sponsor Model
NASCAR this morning will reveal the four premier partners in its new sponsorship system: Geico, Coca-Cola, Busch Beer and Xfinity. The sanctioning body has overhauled the title sponsor model it had been using since the early ‘70s to go with the new system, which as of the '20 season will see its top circuit called the NASCAR Cup Series with no brand attached. The idea from NASCAR execs is to have more of the focus on the NASCAR brand instead of sharing its name with another company, while having its sponsorship revenue less dependent on one title sponsor. NASCAR will now devote the vast majority of its advertising assets to the four major brands. Terms were not revealed for the deal, but sources said NASCAR was originally seeking around $20M annually from four to six premier partners before eventually settling closer to $15M annually.

Porsche rents Tesla Model 3 to learn from the Americans
Elon Musk continues to school the Germans as Tesla begins to take a huge bite out of the German car market
Porsche is really interested in Tesla’s latest V10 software update, and especially the new Smart Summon feature. Electrek has learned that Porsche sent engineers to the US to rent a Tesla Model 3 and test out Autopilot under the latest software update. They apparently came out impressed.
Jensen Gadley, a Tesla Model 3 owner from Las Vegas who rents out his car on Turo, was thinking of canceling a rental after the customers insisted on using the Smart Summon feature in his car.
The problem is that Smart Summon requires the use of the Tesla Mobile App, which means that Gadley would have to give them either his phone or his Tesla credentials, which is obviously less than ideal.

'Too early' to consider Hamilton for 2021 - Binotto
The only way Lewis Hamilton goes to Ferrari is if they hire Aldo Costa to lead the Ferrari design team. Short of that Hamilton is playing Ferrari like a fiddle to extract more money from Mercedes with his new contract
(GMM) Mattia Binotto says it is "far too early" to speculate about whether Lewis Hamilton will sign up with Ferrari for 2021.
The Hamilton-to-Ferrari rumor was a hot topic in the Abu Dhabi paddock, and after winning the race the Mercedes driver didn't even deny that he recently met with Ferrari chairman John Elkann.
"Everything that happens behind closed doors is obviously private," said the Mercedes driver.
"But I think for many, many years I've never ever sat down and considered other options, because we've been on a straight path ahead."
Sebastian Vettel's contract at Ferrari expires at the end of next year, raising the prospect of a Hamilton-Charles Leclerc Ferrari lineup.
