Video: Rendezvous - A film by Claude Lelouch
Route

The video is from a 8:24, one-take movie made by French film director, Claude Lelouch in 1976, shortly after he made the movie, A Man and a Woman.  It was only available underground for many years (because of all of the traffic laws that were violated during its filming).

The film shows an eight-minute drive through Paris during the early hours (05:30) of a Sunday morning in August (when much of Paris is on summer vacation), accompanied by sounds of a high-revving engine, gear changes and squealing tyres. It starts in a tunnel of the Paris Peripherique at Porte Dauphine, with an on-board view from an unseen car exiting up on a slip road to Avenue Foch. Well-known landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, Opera Garnier, and Place de la Concorde with its obelisk are passed, as well as the Champs-Elysees.

Juncos not on Rolex 24 entry list
Ricardo Juncos in happier times
Ricardo Juncos in happier times
The low TV ratings on NBCSN hurt everyone, but none more than the small teams like Carlin, AJ Foyt, Juncos and Dale Coyne Racing in IndyCar and now Juncos in IMSA.

As the old saying goes, "It's the TV ratings stupid" and anyone signing a deal to put their races on NBCSN fits the part. Why would a sponsor pay to put their name on a car for a race shown on NBCSN where they would get such little exposure? Sponsors are not stupid like the ones who sign such TV deals.

Big Auto is pouring its money into American manufacturing operations

Trump has indeed made America Great again. Imagine what he will accomplish in the next 5 years. Obama said manufacturing jobs are never coming back to America. Trump proved him dead wrong.
Obama said manufacturing jobs are never coming back to America. Trump proved him dead wrong.
Detroit automakers are facing technological disruption, whipsawing government policies and economic uncertainty.

Driving the news: Just-completed labor contracts between Detroit automakers and the United Auto Workers union yielded $22.7 billion in planned investment in U.S. factories over the next four years, adding or securing 25,400 jobs.

But that is just the start. You don't open up new plants over night. It takes years to get through regulatory red tape.  But the Trump corporate tax cuts now make it economically feasible to once again manufacture product in the USA.

The FIA, the governing body also over Formula One, will soon begin recognizing Formula E as world championship, and manufacturers are flocking to it by the season. But all of that isn’t putting pressure on F1 to go electric—at least, not that F1 is letting us onto.

Motorsport.com quotes FIA president Jean Todt as saying it’ll be decades before F1 goes electric, if it even goes at all.

After taking two wins with Red Bull in 2018, including two pole positions, Daniel Ricciardo’s ninth-place finish in the standings for 2019 proves that F1 is 99% car and 1% driver.

"I think we can get this going next year for where we can still believe in 2020. [We’re on track] to reach some podiums next year.

“Yeah, it’s a stretch, but I do believe that if we do what we believe we can, it’s still there. This season hasn’t taken any wind out of our sails, it’s just a bit more fuel for the fire,” he said in Abu Dhabi.

In the years since, global juggernauts including Toyota, Volkswagen, and the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance have continued to grow, becoming the three largest global car manufacturers and relegating GM to fourth place.
