It’s 1955, you’re just 15 years old and it’s been nine days since you boarded that ship with your family and left your home country of Italy. And even though the long trip is over and you’ve arrived at New York Harbor, I know you’re not exactly excited to be here. Your family doesn’t speak any English and your father has $125 to his name.
