NASCAR pleased with COT testing
NASCAR official Brett Bodine attended the Goodyear tire test for the "car of tomorrow" last week and says he was happy with what he saw in the cars of Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth and Ryan Newman at Phoenix International Raceway.

"We saw three very good race teams, and all three had different aerodynamic configurations," said Bodine, NASCAR's director of cost research. "To me, that's encouraging that we didn't build the car and give the aerodynamic pieces and that they all migrate to one area."

Teams can adjust the angle of the rear wing anywhere from 0 degrees to 16 degrees and the length of the front splitter anywhere from four inches to six inches as well as play with the wicker bills and different versions of the end plates on the wings.

"It looks like that the two pieces that we have provided - the wing and the front splitter - have given them enough tune-ability that they can be specific to drivers and to setups," Bodine said Monday.  Scenedaily.com
