Prill Named VP of Marketing and Communications Sports Car Club of America, Inc. and SCCA Pro Racing jointly announced today that Eric Prill has been named Vice President of Marketing & Communications for both companies.
Prill, 33, had previously served as Director of Marketing Communications and fills the executive position that has been vacant since February 2006.
“Eric provides that perfect blend of deep and long term experience with the Club combined with outstanding job skills in both Marketing and Communications,” SCCA President and CEO Jim Julow said.
“To join the executive team of an organization that I grew up with, literally as a member from my childhood and now professionally for the last 10 years, is quite an honor,” Prill said. “I’m excited to begin my new role with SCCA and help the organization achieve new levels of excellence.”
Prill joined the SCCA staff with subsidiary SCCA Pro Racing in December 1996, serving initially as publicist for the U.S. F2000 National Championship before becoming PR Manager. He moved to parent company SCCA, Inc. in 2001 as its Director of Communications, assisting in the successful relocation of both the organization’s headquarters and hallmark event (National Championship Runoffs) in the last five years. He has continued to work closely with SCCA Pro Racing’s in-house series, achieving record levels of promotional coverage for the SPEED World Challenge and was promoted to Director of Marketing Communications early last year.
A graduate of Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), Prill spent his childhood at SCCA events as part of a racing family. Still an avid road racer, he and his wife have resided in Topeka, Kan. since 2002.
