Lloyd wins Indy Pro snoozefest
Alex Lloyd led every lap to claim his record-setting fifth Indy Pro Series victory winning the Road Runner 100.

The Englishman topped Apex Racing's Mike Potekhen by 2.2826 seconds in the Road Runner 100. Lloyd's seventh career victory tied former series champions Thiago Medeiros and Mark Taylor for the most in Indy Pro Series history.

Jonathan Klein, making his fourth start for Team Moore Racing, finished third. Sean Guthrie finished a career-best fourth and Bobby Wilson was fifth.

"It's been so much fun to drive for these guys. The car was just fantastic and has been all year."

He's also had to steer clear of trouble. A Lap 2 incident involved seven cars (four of which were forced to retire early with damage), and he withstood a restart with 10 laps remaining to lead from start to finish.

"We started off and the car was great and we disappeared off," said Lloyd, who remained a comfortable 2-4 seconds ahead of Potekhen between laps 17 and 75. "Then we started to get a bit of understeer and then it would go loose. It was really 50/50 and I wasn't sure what to do with the bars and weight jackers, so I made some adjustments over about 30 laps. I was trying some different things, but once we got the last yellow (for light contact in Turn 2 by the No. 52 Apex Racing car driven by Ken Losch) I felt like I was pretty happy.

"The cool-down of that last yellow really helped. When we restarted, the car got back to perfect. The last 10 laps we were just cruising around and it was going perfect and that allowed us to pull away. I was very pleased.

"It's just a testament to the whole Sam Schmidt Motorsports and Lucas Oil. We've done a great job all season. Great car and I am really thrilled to be here."
