BMW-Sauber gets New Sponsor Swiss company Sika will be supporting the BMW Sauber F1 Team as a Promotional Supplier from 2008. Based in Baar, Switzerland, Sika is a specialty chemicals company well known to BMW and already involved in other motor sport projects run by the group. The cooperation began in the 1980s.
BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen: “We are very pleased that this longstanding cooperation is now to be taken up by Formula One. Sika, like ourselves and the other partners of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, has the same aspiration towards perfection in its own products. Beyond that, it also means we will have another Swiss element in our team.”
Sika will be appearing as the Official Partner of the Formula BMW World Final 2007, which takes place this weekend in Valencia, Spain. Their involvement in the event provides the ideal context in which to announce their role as Promotional Supplier to the BMW Sauber F1 Team as of January 2008.
