Mopar extends its long-running sponsorship of Denver event
Mopar, longtime sponsor of NHRA Drag Racing, has renewed its multiyear entitlement agreement through 2011 with the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series race held annually at Bandimere Speedway near Denver.

The 30th annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, which represents the traditional launching point for the three-races-in-three-weeks Western Swing through Denver, Seattle, and Sonoma, will be held July 10-12, 2009, at Bandimere Speedway.

"This ensures that one of the longest continuous title-rights sponsorships in motorsports will continue on, and it speaks volumes to the value proposition in the NHRA [Full Throttle] Drag Racing Series," said NHRA Senior Vice President-Sales and Marketing Gary Darcy. "It's also a credit to the entire team at Bandimere Speedway for their commitment to nurturing, growing, and retaining such a marquee sponsor as Mopar for so many years."

This will mark the 21st consecutive year that Mopar has been the title sponsor of the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, which first raised the Mopar flag in 1989.

"Through Mopar's long-lasting relationship with the NHRA and the team at Bandimere Speedway, the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals has become the premier event for our fans and customers," said Mopar's Senior Manager-Marketing and Strategy Sunil Lahoti. "Mopar is proud to continue as title sponsor of this event. The hemi-powered drivers that compete in the NHRA [Full Throttle] Series demonstrate the performance and reliability of Mopar parts, which has spawned quarter-mile success for generations of racers. The Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals is the ultimate showcase for Mopar power."

The race will be the 13th in the 18-race Countdown to 10 regular season, marking the start of the stretch run as the drivers jockey for the final playoff positions.

"Relationships, trust, and results are the key ingredients to the longevity of Mopar's partnership with NHRA and Bandimere Speedway," said John C. Bandimere Jr., president of Bandimere Speedway. "We are proud to work alongside such an innovative team as they have at Mopar and to continue to have their brand and what it stands for as the title sponsor of our event."
