China tops second bonus session A1 Team China began its A1GP Gauteng, South Africa weekend well, by running fastest in the second bonus session arranged this morning.
Ho-Pin Tung, on his return to the Chinese car this weekend, clocked a lap of 1m 31.328 seconds as the track conditions got hotter at the start of a glorious day in Johannesburg.
Brazil’s Felipe Guimaraes was second on his track debut, beating Italy’s Edoardo Piscopo into third.
Lebanon’s Daniel Morad, the pace setter so far this weekend, could only manage the fourth quickest time. USA’s Marco Andretti was fifth fastest.
The extra session was the second of two sessions arranged this morning, aimed at giving the teams more time after slight delays in fitting in additional parts to the cars to contend with Kyalami’s high altitude. Not all cars were eligible to take part.
