Three GCC drivers to compete at Speedcar Series race weekend The Speedcar Series race weekend on February 27-28, 2009 will have 15 drivers representing eight teams at the Dubai Autodrome. The fourth round of the Series will feature three Arab drivers in the line up including Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum from the UAE, Hamad Al Fardan from Bahrain and four-time Middle East Rally Champion Nasser Al Attiyah.
Al Attiyah who is currently conducting rally tests is expected to arrive tomorrow just in time to race in the Series. He will be competing for the second time after the Losail International Circuit night event. Bahraini Al Fardan will be making his debut behind the wheel of a Speedcar while Hasher Al Maktoum is a familiar name having been in the Series since its first season.
Italian MotoGP rider and former 250cc World Champion Marco Melandri will also be back for another try at the Series after narrowly missing out on a win in the second race in Qatar earlier this month.
Also making a return to Speedcar Series for this round is David Terrien who had previously competed in Season 1 and finished in second place overall.
