Ferrari denies supporting Todt
Ferrari have revealed that they never expressed their support for Ari Vatanen in the FIA presidential elections, which will take place on October 23rd.

The announcement comes after former world rally champion Vatanen released a statement last week, in which he criticized Max Mosley for publicly backing his rival Jean Todt.

In his statement Vatanen said: "At Ferrari they don't want Todt to be president, because they think the sport would lose credibility.

"The same would happen if it was Ross Brawn or Flavio Briatore running.

"The president of the FIA must be someone neutral."

But, in response to Vatanen's claims, Ferrari director of communications Luca Colajanni has told website inthenews.co.uk: "We have never expressed any preference for any candidate as the teams are not involved directly in the election of the president of FIA."

Former Ferrari team principle Todt, who led Michael Schumacher to five consecutive drivers' world championships and Ferrari to six constructors' titles, will go head-to-head with Vatanen in the race for the presidency.
