SPEED Live Coast to Coast in January Beginning with unprecedented live twin-bill coverage of the USHRA Monster Jam event from Atlanta’s Georgia Dome (7 p.m. ET) and the season-opening AMA Supercross event from Anaheim (10 p.m. ET) on Jan. 9, SPEED rolls into 2010 with a full slate of live event programming in January.
On Jan. 15 & 16, SPEED will be live from Daytona Beach as NASCAR drivers kick off the racing season with NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fest, with Daytona 500 winners Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. among the drivers scheduled to appear.
A few days later, SPEED will take its cameras back across the country to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the 39th annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction, with 39 hours of live coverage over six days beginning Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. An original 1963 Shelby Cobra and the first production 1966 GT350 are among the cars scheduled to move across the block.
And to close out the month, SPEED will offer live coverage of the famed Rolex 24 at Daytona, one of the world’s premiere sports car endurance races. Coverage begins Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. ET and continues on Sunday at 7 a.m. ET. Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, IndyCar champ Dario Franchitti and popular actor Patrick Dempsey are among the names in a field loaded with star power.
Following Saturday’s coverage of the Rolex 24, SPEED will take viewers to live coverage of the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown, a true showcase of the best short-track racers in the country.
