Nationwide qualifying rained out -starting grid set NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying was rained out. In fact, it was also so chilly that one would not be surprised to see snow coming down, just like it did for the Roar Before the 24.
Instead of using practice times from the last practice like most series do, NASCAR uses a combination of owner's (car) points and a random draw to determine the grid. Since JR Motorsports purchased another team, the points from the purchased team transfer to JR Motorsports and Danica Patrick's car. She will start 15th. This puts her right in the middle of everything, in a field that has many of the Sprint Cup top drivers around her. If she makes ground in this field, she will have earned it.
Kyle Busch, the Nationwide champion, and Carl Edwards will start on the front row at 1:15 p.m.
