FAZZT Announces New Chief Operating Officer The FAZZT Race Team announced today that team General Manager Rob Edwards has been named Chief Operating Officer of the FAZZT Race Team. Those responsibilities will include overseeing the commercial operations and sales division of the FAZZT Race Team. Edwards replaces former COO Jim Freudenberg who resigned his position earlier this month for personal reasons.
"We are looking forward to continue to grow and develop the commercial operations side of the FAZZT Race Team," said Edwards. "The team has a very strong commercial platform with a number of very strong partners and we will continue to strengthen those partnerships and create new ones."
The FAZZT Race Team and its driver Alex Tagliani are currently 11th in points in the IZOD IndyCar Series in their first season of competition. The team has had an extremely strong debut, starting on the front row of the season opener in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Most recently the team showed outstanding effort at the Indianapolis 500 where the team's full-time driver Tagliani started fifth and finished 10th. In addition to starting Tagliani, the team also prepared and entered an entry for open-wheel veteran Bruno Junqueira. Junqueira was the fastest bump day qualifier, started 25th and finished 32nd after an early accident forced him out of the race.
