Carroll a hit in US IndyCar Adam Carroll will make his second appearance in the US IndyCar championship at Mid Ohio next month.
Following the Ulsterman’s debut at Watkins Glen at the weekend, Andretti Autosport have confirmed he will drive in the 12th round of the IZOD series, the Honda 200, at the road course near Lexington on August 8.
Although Carroll finished 16th at Watkins Glen, he impressed the entire Andretti organization — so much so that team boss Michael Andretti flew him back from New York to Indianapolis on board his private jet for two days of talks.
“If I’d finished 16th in a GP2 or A1GP race no one would have noticed. But out here they look at things more closely and analyze the whole race,” said Carroll.
Last year he stunned the team by setting 10th fastest time, ahead of three of his Andretti teammates.
