Button's mother caught up in hotel fire (GMM) Jenson Button has confirmed that his mother Simone was one of the patrons evacuated from a local Silverstone hotel earlier this week.
We reported on Tuesday that the Premier Inn hotel, within a stone's throw of the Northamptonshire track, burned down.
One woman was hospitalized, amid concurrent rumors that reigning world champion Button's mother was staying in the hotel at the time ahead of this weekend's British grand prix.
But the McLaren driver said on Thursday: "She has lost a few possessions but other than that she is fine."
Affected patrons were initially transported to a nearby hotel, but Button has now rented a motor home for his mother to stay in at Silverstone this weekend.
