Schumacher waiting for new Mercedes chassis (GMM) Michael Schumacher has revealed he is hoping to race a new W01 chassis as soon as possible.
For the whole of his formula one comeback so far, the seven time world champion has driven the 2010 car designated '01' by Mercedes GP.
He qualified 8 tenths behind his teammate Nico Rosberg on Saturday, and on Sunday finished ninth while Rosberg drove to the podium.
"I was hoping to get a new chassis at Hockenheim as I have been driving the current one for a long time," Schumacher told German Sky television after the British grand prix.
"But it (the new car) will probably only be ready for Spa," added the 41-year-old, referring to the Belgian event at the end of August.
What will be ready for the forthcoming German race, however, is the latest update package for the W01 car.
"There are a few changes, but as we have seen with McLaren, it's not easy when you can't test," said team boss Ross Brawn.
"We will try the changes on Friday (at Hockenheim) and hope that they will work," he added.
