Toronto: Dixon fastest, then crashes Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon was fastest in opening practice for this weekend's Toronto Honda IndyCar race at Exhibition place. However, Dixon got into the back of Takuma Sato in turn 2 and spun Sato around. Bertrand Baguette came around the blind corner and ran right into the back of Dixon's gearbox, damaging both his and Dixon's car.
Justin Wilson was 2nd quick in the Dreyer & Reinbold car ahead of Canadian favorite Alex Tagliani. Helio Castroneves and Dario Franchitti rounded out the top-5.
