 Edmonton: Franchitti tops opening IndyCar practice  Dario Franchitti and his Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon were 1-2 in opening practice for Sunday's Edmonton IndyCar race on the runways and taxiways of the downtown airport.

Penske teammates Will Power and Helio Castroneves were 2nd and 3rd with Justin Wilson rounding out the top-5 for Dreyer & Reinbold.

Mika Duno continued to make herself and the series look foolish as she was 12.2 seconds off the pace.
