Interlagos must improve ageing F1 track - Ecclestone (GMM) Organizers of the Brazilian grand prix need to improve the Interlagos circuit.
That was the clear message given by Bernie Ecclestone in an interview at the Hungaroring with the O Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper.
"Brazil will organize the next World Cup and the Olympics in 2016," said the F1 chief executive.
"It makes sense. Long ago I believed in Brazil and took formula one there in 1972. But the future depends on significant improvements to Interlagos.
"These events (World Cup and Olympics) represent a great opportunity to renew the race track as well.
"I can no longer be questioned by the teams about the worst circuit in the championship and will have a serious conversation with the mayor," added Ecclestone.
