Kasey Kahne walked out of the infield medical center after a wild accident Friday night and will be OK to drive Saturday night in the Irwin Tool Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The accident in the Food City 200 occurred when Justin Allgaier hit Trevor Bayne and moved into the side of Kahne, whose Braun Racing car rolled onto its side and rode along the wall through turns 1 and 2.
“I was on the outside and had no more room and I guess the 12 [of Allgaier] didn’t know I was there or he got pushed up,” Kahne said after leaving the medical center. “I haven’t seen it. I was just kind of there and once he put me in the wall I was up on the wall and slid down the front straight away until it came to a stop.
“I just stayed there for a little bit. It’s kind of like spinning out, but you’re on your side. … You’re just sliding on your side. It wasn’t a very big deal. I’ve had much worse.”
