 Franchitti tops rain shortened opening practice  Dario Franchitti was quickest in a rain-interrupted opening IndyCar Series practice session at Kentucky Speedway Friday.

After 20 minutes of clear running rain showers hit the oval.

Qualifying for Saturday night's race is due to take place this afternoon, weather permitting.
