Rojas Nominated for Major Mexican Sporting Award  GRAND-AM Rolex Series Daytona Prototype co-champion Memo Rojas is among the athletes nominated for the National Sports Award by Mexican Federation of Motor Sports.
This is the first nomination for the Mexican driver for the most important award that the Government of Mexico presents to athletes who represent the country in international competition.

Rojas is coming off the most dominant season in Rolex Series history, joining Scott Pruett in nine victories and 11 podium finishes in 2010 competition. It was his second championship in three years competing with TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.

"The National Sports Awards is perhaps one of the most important awards for me," Rojas said. "I would like to thank CONADE, CODEME, and the Mexican Federation of Motoring for this recognition. I would also like to thank TELMEX, Red Bull, Armor All and Interproteccion, along with all of the fans who have always supported me."

Among the top achievements in his 17-year career are victories in the Rolex 24 At Daytona in addition to triumphs at historic Watkins Glen International and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, inscribing his name alongside the immortal Pedro Rodriguez among the top Mexican drivers in international competition.

The National Sports Award will be decided by a series of votes by several special panels and highly respected journalists.

The winner will be announced a few days before the 100th anniversary celebration of the Mexican Revolution on November 20, and the prize will be awarded by the President at a breakfast at the National Palace as part of the centennial.
