Logano edges Busch for Nationwide pole at HMS Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Joey Logano and Kyle Busch have battled all season long in the Nationwide Series, with both drivers gaining the upper hand at different points during the year. But for the season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Logano has the early edge on Busch after grabbing the pole for the Ford 300 by just .005 seconds on his teammate (Race Lineup).
Logano will roll off first for a career-high eighth time this season thanks to a lap of 171.499 mph. Four drivers later, Busch hit the 1.5-mile track and came up just short of the pole with a lap of 171.472 mph. They were the only two drivers to eclipse the 171 mph mark.
Brad Keselowski kicked off qualifying and posted the third-fastest lap at 170.805 mph. Aric Almirola will roll off fourth (170.665 mph) and Danica Patrick will make a career-best start when she rolls off fifth thanks to a lap of 170.519 mph.
Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Trevor Bayne and Cole Whitt round out the top 10.
Michael McDowell, Danny O' Quinn Jr., Sean Caisse and Tim Andrews failed to make the 43-car field.
