50th Anniversary-edition Shelby Cobra sells out in 48 hours All 50 copies of the 50th Anniversary Shelby Cobra Street Car sold out within 48 hours of its official introduction, Shelby American said on Monday.
The car was unveiled during the Barrett-Jackson Auction on Jan. 21 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
"The strong demand for these cars proves that the Shelby Cobra is still as desirable and sought-after today as it was 50 years ago," said John Luft, president of Shelby American.
The exterior of the car will be painted black and will include wire wheels and special 50th-anniversary badges. The interior will include wine-colored leather and Wilton Wool carpeting.
Prices for the 50th Anniversary Shelby Cobra start at $69,995 for a fiberglass body and $134,995 for an aluminum body.
