No changes in this year's Sprint All-Star Race For the first time in a while, the annual NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will not see a format change.
The all-star race over the years has seen a variety of changes, including the use of double-file restarts, field inversion and the addition of a fan vote to add a driver to the field.
We always worth together with NASCAR on what the ideas are around the all-star race and we were all in favor in leaving the successful format in place that worked last year," said speedway president Marcus Smith.
The race will feature a pre-race concert by Grammy-nominated country music star Dierks Bentley, which will be held in the infield between Turns 1 and 2. Admission to the concert is free with the purchase of ticket to the race.
