Superleague adds more international races The 2011 Superleague Formula season will include races in Russia, Brazil, China, New Zealand and the Middle East.
The schedule comprises six European events as well as six ‘flyaway’ races across four continents. It includes a visit to the Smolensk Ring in September, for what will be the first international single-seater event to ever take place in Russia and Curitiba in October, part of a planned double-header in Brazil.
Season 4 of the single-seater series will also include a return to China in September and groundbreaking new events in the Middle East and New Zealand in November.
The 2011 season will commence at Estoril in Portugal on 28/29 May. The championship will then visit Assen in June, Navarra, Magny-Cours and Zolder on consecutive weekends in July and Donington Park in August.
Robin Webb, Superleague Formula Competitions Director: “SF took a significant step forward in 2010 when we visited China for the first time as part of our expanded 12 round calendar. The 2011 schedule has a well-balanced mix of traditional venues and new circuits held across four different continents and we’re looking forward to introducing our unique motorsport concept to new fans around the globe.”
