Hunter-Reay tops opening IndyCar practice in St. Pete Andretti Autosports' Ryan Hunter-Reay put his DHL car on top of the timing charts for the opening Friday morning IndyCar practice on the 1.8-mile St. Petersburg, Florida track. Hunter-Reay's lap of 1m4.1437s was enough to keep last year's road course king, Will Power in 2nd.
Hunter-Reay's Andretti teammate Mike Conway was 3rd. Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe rounded out the top-5.
There were several incidents during the session including a crash by EJ Viso (here we go again) and a spin by Danica Patrick.
